    Hi,
I'm slowly working my way through getting BA one to do most of the things my current setups do but I'm having a real headache setting up backup audio using the watchdog feature.
Input to the processor is via a livewire stream and I'm happy with that but the problem seems to be when I emulate silence or loss of livewire from the source (studio end).
I have set the command for running the backup software and this executes perfectly as does the command to kill the software when audio returns but the problem is that as soon as the backup software starts playing, coming in over a pre-selected Pipeline, watchdog interprets it as audio returning and shouts off the playout software.
I would have expected this to have been considered and that the watchdog only monitors the primary input to the processor and not the secondary as it is to expected that this audio is present but is not to used to indicate that service from the primary source has been restored.
Is there any way to set this up so that external playout continues until the livewire stream is restored?
Maybe I'm reading too much into the functionality of watchdog and it's not intended for use in this way?

    Thanks.

    It's an interesting dilemma.

Perhaps a feature or two could make it work how you want.

The other option, and maybe what you're doing right now already, is to just have the backup audio already there 24/7 on your backup input/s. That's generally what's being done when using BreakawayOne somewhere on the STL path. I have one station that actually has 5 different ways that audio can get to the transmitter, all handled automatically by BreakawayOne. That station is NOT going off air hehehe.
