I’ve got a question. I’m noticing using most presets with virtually any voice that passes through it (dry voice) that minor plosives get a little exaggerated by the processing. It’s not a huge deal…but if you’ve got subwoofers…it’s a little distracting when a slight plosive into a mic causes a thunderous "whump."

Not much I can do about voice recordings/commercials from out-of-house…but looking for suggestions to try to alleviate it.

    🙂

I’m running HPF at 30hz now.

Most mixers have a 75hz LPF (low cut) to counter this problem for eliminating what is known as "proximity effect" (otherwise known as being close to the mic). Try this on the mixer/mic processor if possible as it will eliminate the problem at the source.
Some mics also have a 75hz low cut on them too..

Frankly, it’s a testament of the "REAL" sound that Breakaway offers. Given my market, I’ve found that tuning Regulator and adjusting the bass has gotten me closest to the sound I’m after. I prefer Plutonium or Rustonium for our internet streams. But, putting it on the air is a different deal. Thanks for the tip. We have SM7’s, AT2020 condensers and a mix of Symetrix (528) and DBX286 processors.
