Hi there, quite a while ago I was informed that a new version of Breakaway Audio Enhancer would feature Undo (JesseG said this on some IRC channels, I'm not sure if he recalls our conversations from a couple years back or whether he even posts here anymore). having done some quick searches on the forums, it appears that there hasn't been any progress on this at all, which is a shame because Undo seems like the best way to 'fix' the poor mastering and earcrushing loudness that all too often accompany modern albums. the only other software solution is the Omnia .9/XE which doesn't support any lossless formats and at over $1200 is simply out of reach for consumers like myself who have no use for its other functionalities. so if anyone around here happens to be in the know regarding Undo/Breakaway, any info you can provide will be massively appreciated
try perfect declipper. made by the person behind sterio tool. load it into breakaway the same as any other dsp plugin, might be an option
from what i understand Undo has Perfect DeClipper built in, which automatically makes it superior to the standalone PDC. so if there's a chance of getting Undo then i'll hold out for it instead. what worries me about using PDC is that if i use it and Undo comes out, then i'll have to:
– redo the process for my music library
– keep backup of the original files that hasn't been processed by PDCneither of which are ideal, as you can see 😀
