Hi Leif, hi to all.
This is my first post! 🙂
We actually use BBP with external stereo generator ad external RDS injection directly into the stereo coder.
Today we will receive the new soundcard ESI Juli@ PCI that run at 192khz instead of the actual M-Audio AP2496 that run at maximum of 96 khz (the reason because we use the externel stereo coder) and I would like to use the internal stereo generator of BBP and switch from BBP to BAOne.
But I have same questions: 1) how to calibrate tilt, pilot, levels without a meter? (direct connection from pc to FM trasmitter that isn't in the same building of the pc :/ ). In the past I used the internal meters of our stereo generator Inovonics 708 (no oscilloscope, no modulation meter).
2) How can inject the RDS external signal into BBP/BAOne?
Thanks in advance to all replies!August 7, 2018 at 3:15 am #15057LeifKeymasterHi Incontro,
For calibration, you really need a modulation monitor. My own software MpxTool is planned for release next month. Otherwise you can at least adjust tilt by looking at the transmitter's modulation meter and adjusting tilt (while using the square wave test tone in BaOne) for minimum modulation.
BaOne actually doesn't support external RDS encoders. It wasn't worth the hassle and complication for just 1187.5 bits per second of data, better to have BaOne generate the RDS itself with the built in optional RDS encoder.
Best regards,

One question: tilt setting is valid if I first put L/R out form my soundcard into L/R in of the stereocoder, then set the tilt with the aid of meters and finally link MPX out directly to transmitter?
I have a Denon FM receiver…can I use it and one soundcard to make my home-made modulation monitor?
Finally, how to convert my BBP license into BAone FM basic core license? And is it possibile to upgrade BAOne in the future with HD core, RDS, streaming…or move the license from one pc to another? (eg. in case of pc breaking-down)
Thank you so much!Emmanuel from Italy (Radio Incontro is the name of radio station 🙂 )

However, I can assist with the question about the conversion process. Go to http://www.breakawayone.com/free-upgrade/ to see what the options are, and how to go about it.
Upgrades are also priced on that page.If you need to migrate to another PC, I understand that you will need to apply for a new licence, and provide the MAC address and details of the new PC, because the licence is generated from the MAC address. Perhaps an email to broadcast@claessonedwards.com would clarify this.
