    Hi,

    Does anyone know if Breakaway One can be used to encode RadioText Plus (RT+) RDS data?

    I just had a quick look and it seems it might do so as there is certainly options to generate artist and track titles or any other text based information from a text file.
    There is also the following code in the breakawayone-processing config file
    rds_tp_enable=0

    That TP option in the config is to enabled the RDS "Traffic Program" flag, so this is something different.

    I did get this to work as a test but it requires a correctly formatted text string to be used as the RT data. Tricky, but it did work.

    But thank you for checking.

    I was wondering the same thing, and tested it the other day. Seems it follows the same syntax as Stereo Tool (not surprising, as I understand BaOne uses the same RDS encoder).

    https://forums.stereotool.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5910&p=29085#p29085

    Example:

    code :Now playing \+TiHeart To Heart\- by \+ArKenny Loggins\-

    I've tested it by feeding BaOne's MPX output into the Breakaway Pipeline, which in turn feeds RDS Spy. Now, if only I could find a receiver that supports RT+ for some real-world testing!

    Older Apple iPod Nano supports Radio Text Plus (RT+), I know for fact that 2009 and 2010 versions do, unsure about 2012. The new “iPhone look a like” iPod do not have any FM radio.

    Interesting! I’d forgotten about my poor, abandoned iPod.
    Thanks for the information. Now, where’s my charger?
