Hi folks! I’m running a net station that’s a mixture of hits from the 1970s to the present. That’s a wide range of decades, genres and sounds, and I’m looking for ideas on which preset might work best. I’ve been running Plutonium with noise reduction and Jesse G’s stereo enhancer settings from another thread. I haven’t tweaked the settings because outside of final drive, I’m not sure what they all do (my broadcasting area is in programming and on-air, not engineering). Any suggestions (or your own settings, if you run a station like mine) are appreciated. If you want to listen to the stream, here’s two links. The first is my 128k stream, the second is 32k AAC.

I know that’s a lot of questions, but I really don’t know the answers. The more I know, the better I can fine-tune Live for the sound I want.

December 15, 2011 at 2:15 am #12887Don935MemberI’m aware of that; I’m just wondering, in the board’s opinion, what would be the best starting point.
My music mix covers songs from the early 70’s to the present. It’s mostly pop and rock, but there’s also urban, alternative, triple-A and even the rare country crossover. That’s a lot of recording styles and dynamics are going to vary, especially comparing an older song with the overprocessed mishmash that’s put out today. What I’m looking for is the "happy medium" that will make if not all, most if it, sound good. Plutonium is very, very close, but I’m still not totally happy with it.

December 16, 2011 at 2:34 am #12889Don935MemberI’ve tried this since this morning and listened to several hours, and it’s sounding great to me. Thanks for the suggestion, Timmywa. Would you mind listening to the stream for a bit when you have time?
December 16, 2011 at 3:19 am #12890timmywaParticipantWill do, Don935!
Glad you like it.

Still listening and LOVING your station! Have you made any more adjustments? It’s sounding really good! Loving Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson!!
Merry Christmas!
December 23, 2011 at 5:13 pm #12895Don935MemberOn a lark, I tried using Jill FM for about a hour, but I’m back with Rustonium, speed at 40. It has the presence I want but isn’t as fatiguing to my ears as Jill.
