    Hi,

as far as I understand SRC does its work when BAE Input and Output is set to different values, say 44100 for input and 48000 for output.
What if both are set to 48000 and I play back 44100 material? What happens in that case at the input stage with that material?

My source material is a mix of both, so I tend to set everything to 48000, because I think upscaling is better than downscaling.

The other thing I wonder is when the Cable format range is set up in Pipeline, it sets the sample rate to that range (or fixed setting) accordingly for the Line 1 (BAE) in Windows Sound panel. But the Sound Card’s sample rate stays at the default of 48000 Hz.
In the case Pipeline/BAE is set to 44100 for output, shouldn’t the Sound Card be manually set to 44100 Hz in Windows Sound panel?

    Best regards,
    Wilhelm

I am unsure of the definitive answer to this without setting up some scenarios and viewing the results on an oscilloscope. However, I always align windows, Pipeline and BAE settings to the same value. I have heard some systems where music recorded at 48k played slower when down-converted to 44.1k

Having said that, I believe that the Windows settings are ignored if you select “KS”, because that is a lower level layer than the Windows options.
