MemberI am using Breakaway Live in conjunction with OtsAV 1.90 (Esperance), and the standalone version of Edcast for my internet radio station.
Everything was working fine for a couple of months, but, during the last couple of weeks, I have started to experience a lot of skipping. When I restart my computer, Ots, Breakaway and Edcast, everything works fine for a day or two, but then the stream starts to skip, and I have to restart again.
Two things have changed recently:
I updated to the latest version of Ots (1.90), and,
I started using the built in limiter in Edcast.
If the limiter is the problem, I could do without it. I only really need it when I get on the mic, because without it I get occasional distortion. But most of the time the station is just running unattended anyway, so I could use the limiter only when I get on the mic.
Based on other posts on related topics, I turned off the "Audio Realtime Priority" in Breakaway, and I’m gonna see if that fixes things before I make any other changes.
If anyone has any other ideas or experience with this, I’d love some advice.
Thanks.

Sounds like a memory leak in Edcast (In case you haven’t experienced this problem before you used Edcast).
Why don’t you use the plugin dll version of Edcast, inside Breakaway?
In that case you do not use the Edcast limiter, but you can use the Attenuator plugin for Breakaway.

MemberThanks Buik. I will look into that. The Edcast limiter is handy, because I can apply it to my voice, which doesn’t get processed through Breakaway.

ParticipantThis brings up a question and while it’s related, I’m sorry if it’s hijacking…
For optimum sound quality and results for streaming…
Should I: A) Put the 1db attenuator plugin under the Plugins section of Breakaway Live first on the list, or…
B) Put the 1db attenuator plugin under the Encoders section of Breakaway Live, before Edcast?I would put the quality on the Breakaway side of things before the Edcast side of things (meaning using the limiter inside of edcast). I mean no offense to John by saying all this as Edcast is WONDERFUL and does it’s main job FANTASTICALLY!
Thanks for the advice and whatever further explanation you could provide along with the answer.
