    Hey,

I’m about to set BBP up for our station in Sweden.. we’re automated only (so far) and running Station Playlist which outputs to its built in oddcast encoder and then picked up by two Icecast2’s, one streaming in mp3 (online listening) and one in OGG that serves as our studio to FM-transmitter link…

Since this solely is an internet based solution, it looks like there is no need using a 192KHz soundcard in my case and instead only go digital from Station Playlist to Icecast2..?

I have my setup on a Dell Vostro 230 with Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 3,06 Ghz using Windows 7 64bit… Would that machine be able to handle both playout, encoding, streaming and BBP? Or should I somehow have this set up on two computers? (have another spare computer that’s indentical)

How would you set things up if you were in my shoes? All advice are highly appreciated!

    Best /Jonatan

If it handles BBP already without problems, and you have some CPU left, everything else you mentioned isn’t going to hit the CPU hard at all in comparison. Less machines = less things to break.
