    Xmmmmmm,
    Let’s see.

    How can i acheve this?

I need to have 75 msec preemfasis for MPX output and …a little little bit preemfasis for the L/R output for …streaming..
BUT i want the MPX output to be ONLY 75 msec

    questions

    1) can i acheve this by using the parametric eq at L/R output and deemfasis ?

    2) can someone,..or Leif, post some optimum parametric eq settings for the L/R output for use with windows media encoders ?
let’s say , something like 25 msec preemfasis using parametric eq OR just a gain at 9.6 K sounds..!?!!?
I need more 9,6K frequency gain at the stream..

That’s not possible, Camclone. To do that, we’d have to run two separate back-end clippers. BBP would then use almost 2x the cpu!
If you need that, run two instances. That way, you can also make further tweaks.

The optimum L/R parametric EQ setting for WME is: OFF.
The optimum L/R parametric EQ setting for aacPlus is: OFF.
The optimum L/R parametric EQ setting for MP3 is: OFF.

The PEQ is only usable for two things:

    1) For FM broadcasting, to compensate for sound card or STL frequency response

    2) For streaming, if you want to reduce the amount of treble. You could for example choose 15us pre-emph, and then reduce treble with the PEQ. You can’t increase though — that will create overshoots.

    I think that………..i absolutely agree with u .

I thought that simple thing… flat flat flat without overshoots..

becuse…if listeners have settings such as ..+5 db trebble , or +5 db bass on their computer or radio……..wow! what a mess 🙂

    thanks!

    That’s a different thing 🙂.

It’s totally fine for listeners to apply EQ. In fact, every speaker (and room!) will have different EQ anyway. However, *you* as a broadcaster have to worry about peak control, not swinging outside the +/- 75 kHz line. Listeners don’t!
