Hello. So I got myself this new OS Windows 7, everything looks good so I started to reinstall my software…..untill I got to BAE.

Problem is while BAE itself works fine it doesn’t see my audio card (realtek high definition audio) which is build in my motherboard I guess (Asus P5k).

It finds USB headset just fine though

realtek high definition audio driver was found and installed by Win 7 via Windows Update, so OS uses it fine

I searched and installed drivers for motherboard and realtek high definition audio (for Win 7) off the internet but it doesn’t seem to change anything.

Any Ideas what might be missing?

    P.S. UAC is OFF

    Hi Maniak!

I’m about to upgrade to Windows 7 myself, as other customers are bound to do the upgrade now as well.

However, the first thing I can think of is, first of all, make sure something is physically plugged into the Realtek output — for example speakers or headphones.

Then, try to go through the wizard again. If you see the expert settings as below:

    Click the Wizard button.

If you don’t see the device in the list, then make sure Safe Mode is checked. You *should* see it in the list then.

Please let me know if this solves the problem.

    Best,

Yes it does detect it in Safe mode and seem to be working fine, it doesn’t see it without safe mode though….why?

and what is safe mode in this program?

Safe Mode in Breakaway means using DirectSound which is guaranteed to find all audio devices, but may cause slightly higher latency.

Normally, Breakaway uses Kernel Streaming, which is more of a Windows XP-thing, and not well supported in Vista and Windows 7. I will work on a better solution for Vista and W7.
