Hello guyz
I am facing a problem with the bbp asio version.. When the input has no sound i have a strange load on 1 cpu core at 100%, if the sound come back again then the cpu usage reverts back to normal usage… The setup i have is :
Asio card : m-audio 192
Automation output : maudio spdif output
bbp asio input : maudio spdif in (asio) -> output : maudio line 1/2
(so basicaly i have an rca to rca cable from spdif output again in spdif in on the maudio card… and also i use LINE 1/2 MAUDIO as an input for the line in automation software and i have this listened through spdif output in win7..) This is because in win 7 our automation software can only open record line in of any card u set not the listen line in slider unfortunately….…When i have no sound for 4 to 5 seconds (for example if the line in radio i am rebroadcasting for some hours ) has a failure , the bbp hags on 1 core of the 4 at 100% and the system also is unresponsive for this time…
If the audio comes back again then the cpu goes at normal use again…PS : The BBP is in asio mode but the cards at least in win 7 is working also as wdm&asio together, this is why i can use it in automation software i beleive, and also i haven’t got any problem in the past before i used this new setup.
Before that i was using BBP asio with input : Analog line 1/2 and output line 1/2 on the maudio card, i never used the spdif input. and ouput together…
I tried the new setup because now i have a perfect sound without picking any noice from cosoles or chep audio cards…But still i have the issue i mentioned aboveAny idea why is this happening and also any solution would be greatly appreciated !!!
Thank in advance to all for any reply..Also i have another problem and as i have seen in this forum some other users have it.. After 4-5 days of use the bbp asio is using 80% of the cpu and the sound stars gliching.. If someone has found a sollution to that please do tell its really a problem having every 4 days to close the bbp and restart it…
System info : intel quad core cpu 2.67Ghz, 4GB Ram, Maudio Audiophile 192
BBP info : BBP Asio (latest version) plugins: impact – bass efx – edcast for streaming…If you need any more info regarding system or anything please tell me…

November 17, 2011 at 5:32 pm #12799djscoobyMemberGuyz can anyone help ?
Maybe i didn’t explain the problem right, let me explain it again…
I have this setup
automation output -> maudio spdif output ->bbp input (maudio spdif in *RCA to RCA cable) –> bbp output *MPX* (maudio line 1/2 out)
When i have silence for 5 seconds+ breakaway hungs the cpu
When sound is back bbp works fineOS : win 7 x64
BBP Asio Latest version
Plugins : impact/chunk , bass efx , edcastPlease if anybody can help i’ll be very glad.. When BBP hangs the CPU the PC is useless , i can’t even remotely connect to it..
Thanks in advanceNovember 18, 2011 at 1:36 pm #12800radio oude stijlMemberHow did you find out it is BBP that locks up the PC?
December 21, 2011 at 8:01 pm #12801djscoobyMember
How did you find out it is BBP that locks up the PC?
Because BBP Asio by the defaut (AUDIO REALTIME PRIORITY-in IO settings) is in realtime priority it locks down the pc…
You cant remote it and thats the bigest problem since its on th TX site…So i disabled this setting, and now it works in above normal priority so i can remote and stop it when it hangs the cpu and restart it..
But the problem is still there as i noticed yesterday.. So if anyone has any idea on what the issue may be, please do tell..December 21, 2011 at 11:24 pm #12802BokiMemberYou answered yourself.
If it hangs ant "above normal" it will for sure lock your PC on "realtime"
So, big chances are that it’s not because BA Asio.Since it’s PC only for BA, maybe it’s better to use XP.

I’m not sure they did. Can you explain that more in depth for me?—
@ the CPU use, that might not be what’s happening when Breakaway hangs for whatever reason. It might be hanging before he CPU goes up, and finding out what’s causing that hang (since it’s an interaction between Breakaway and something else) could be difficult to find.
I would assume you’ve tried different versions of your soundcard’s drivers, and tried (lots of) different latency combinations on your soundcard driver’s control panel. ??

Yes I tried with 2 different ASIO Cards and also differemt versions… The last time i did a reinstall of BBP and the issue semed to be resolved but after some time (1 month+ aprox) the problem reappeared…
Since i lowered the priority yes i can remote when it hangs and also the PIRA alarm can now work and restore the sound cause previously with Realtime the PC was useles when it happened, but the problem is still there..
Heres the setup : Win 7 x64 – Maudio 192 – BBP Asio (latest Version)
Automation output to ->SPDIF OUTPUT (Direct Sound i beleive since the automation doesnt support asio)
BBP Input –>SPDIF IN (ASIO)
BBP OUT –> LINE 1/2 (ASIO)Now the problem :
==============
When theres no input for some seconds the BBP ASIO Hangs the CPU cores (especialy if its realtime the PC is usseles and i have to hard reset it)Software running :
==============
PIRA ALARM monitoring : MAUDIO-SPDIF IN for sound
AIROMATE output : Line 2 (virtual cable from BBP Asio) for RDS
HOTRADIO automation Software : MAUDIO-SPDIF output as Direct Sound or Wave (don’t know exactly)
BBP Asio : (*IO described above)What i think the problem may be :
==========================Since i havent used this setup before a lot can cause it but, because of the fact that when the audio comes again , the cpu returns to normal use and BBP cpu operation restores to 15 to 20% of cpu, i asume it must be a bug in BBP cause when i use the above setup i eliminate completely any noice that an onboard audio card has (ex realtek i used before) since the input and output are directly from m audio and signal / noice ratio are the minimum you can archive..
I cant think of anything else expect maybe any plugin currently running on BBP (running now bass efx-impact Chunk-Edcast for encoding)
………IF anyone can think of anything else please do tell 🙂
Thanks you all for helping me..
Best Regards

December 24, 2011 at 9:20 am #12805JesseGMemberah, M-Audio. I would keep trying progressively older drivers for it, until you find one that’s stable. That’s absolutely the first thing I would point my finger at. (after trying the latest driver, of course)
When I was at radioio, we had over 200 of em running, mostly AP192s, and about 30 DeltaDIOs, on IDENTICAL cloned OS and hardware, and each one seemed to like one of several "good" driver versions I had for them, where the other versions wouldn’t even sync digital audio properly between the machines. Some of the drivers I had were never published anywhere outside of M-Audio (i had a good relationship with them), so… if you run out of things to try, please do call M-Audio, and see if you can get more driver versions.
Of course, that might not be the problem.
December 28, 2011 at 2:17 pm #12806djscoobyMemberok Jesse i will try with other drivers after holidays cause i cant stop the radio all the time during holiday season , and will post back here with my findings…
Thanks a lot for the tip..
Merry Christmas and a happy new Year to all..
🙂
