I am testing an old Lynx AES16 PCI card with Windows 7 and Bao. I could not configure the matrix, from the software mixer of the card the sound does not reach Bao. I can see all eight sources from the card inside Bao but none of them sound. Tested with both kernel and wave.
On the other hand, with Stereo Tool I can make it sound. Is it possible that Bao is not compatible with this card? Any help is appreciated. I’ll make one last attempt with the hardware cables connected to the card board.
I wonder if the problem is VAC? As you know, VAC actually captures the audio and hands it on to BA1. You should have the VAC interface program bundled in BA1, so open that ups and see if you can see the levels jumping in there.
Yes of course. In BreakawayOne Config I tried to set both “kernel streaming” and “wave” with one of the Lynx sound card pipeline (there are 8 to choose from) and no sound comes out, while with Breakaway Pipeline it works.
OK, so to confirm. If you open VAC, you can see audio moving the “level” bars? In BA1, as input, you have one of the VAC pipelines (the one where you can see audio)? Is there anything unusual about the sample rate or anything else which might cause conflict?
In the end I solved the problem: I tried to better configure the software mixer of the card following the instructions in the manual, which is rather complicated to understand, and now it works. The sound comes into Bao and is processed.
