Okay I accidentally submitted and deleted my previous attempt at this thread without getting it copied to the clipboard. :'( Gonna try this again.

Howdy folks! Especially Jesse and Leif or anybody else who's good at modifying preset files.

I downloaded a patch for Omnia.9 ( https://www.telosalliance.com/News/Omnia9-Broadcast-Audio-Processor-Gets-a-Major-Update-to-Audio-Engine ) and tried to open it in 7-Zip. That handy little tool worked like I had hoped and there was a folder full of presets (AMX files). Looking at a few of them, they seem to be made with 6 or 7 bands in mind, whereas Breakaway One seems to be a 5-band processor. I was wondering if it's possible for us to get some of these updated or retrograded or whatever to BA1's 5 bands?

I really like the bass AGC in New York but the highs don't seem to be where one might expect them to be, and I'm thinking it has to be with that final band not being used. I'm just not proficient enough in manipulating presets. I was able to lower the volume by adjusting the outmix though. 8)

I tried to do the same with the Aero.Air (because I use another instance of Breakaway One in the living room on the TV) but I couldn't find a patch to browse through without submitting a request to Telos, and I doubt they'd be happy to share those with a non-paying customer. However looking at videos and descriptions on the Telos website, it looks like those presets are made for 5 bands. Can we also get a couple of TV/Movie focused presets from that project?

    Thanks
    Ty

The .amx files can be imported/exported to/from BA1 using the built in option, but I suspect that there is an add-in program which lets the various parameters be tweaked and that is only in the possession of people like Leif, Jesse G etc. We mere mortals don't get to play in that sand pit.

Sure, you can edit the file in notepad, and tweak some of the settings, but to add or subtract a whole lot of band settings would not be for the faint hearted.

Remember Breakawayone can only have 5 band audio processing. Not 7 from Omnia.9

Really? I thought BA1 also is a 7 band audio processor, only thing is, the standard presets are setup with 5, you can edit them to 7, but then they sound crappy and you have to edit the preset all over, which is a hard thing to do.
So it would be nice if they added some good 7 band presets, maby someone here can post a few? or even better LEIF???

If you download the Omnia 9 patch I linked in the first post and open it in 7-zip, you can find some 6 and 7 band presets. But I'm fairly certain bands 6-7 don't function in BA1. They should be located in "1601-00511-010_omnia9_updater_3.18.99.pak\d:\Omnia9\music_presets\"

I'd zip and upload them somewhere if I knew for sure it wasn't against the forum rules. It's not propagating piracy by any means. The patch is freely available from the official website and the software itself won't work without authorization. I want to get my hands on some Aero presets to see how they sound by comparison on my TV pc.

Tried the "Omnia" presets, but none of them sound good for me. Strangely enough some of those presets with the same name, are 5 band presets in BA1 and are 6 or 7 in Omnia.

Even in the old breakaway (broadcast processor) presets like "Twente" or "Amsterdam" are 6 band presets, "Oldies" is even a 7 band.
So why are the presets in BA1 all 5 (or less) band processing? Is it really less is better?
