NAB 2010

I’m based in Vegas, so I’ll be there. And if all works as expected, I’ll have Breakaway running on a local FM station for all to hear. That ought to make my cell phone ring a couple thousand times with questions like "What the hell are you running for processing?" 😀

Plan to have it up and running on 99.7 The Highway (Hot AC) as soon as I can build up the hardware for the main and booster sites and purchase licenses from Leif.

As a side note…we actually did a short 15-minute test of Breakaway on the air this afternoon (praying, of course, that the promo didn’t interrupt) 😆 Took AES digital out of a EMU 1212M into an Omnia-SG external stereo generator…then composite into the Harris DigitCD exciter. After proper calibration, the results were nothing short of phenomenal. Using the stock "JillFM" and "Plutonium" presets, the station was as loud as anything in the market, and the clarity and high end response far exceeded the competition. Stations we once thought sounded really good, sounded quite dirty compared to Breakaway. All I can say is WOW! As much as we like the 6EXi, we actually hated to put it back in at the end of the test.
