December 8, 2009 at 9:31 pm #9100yorkie98ParticipantMaybe the soundcard’s 192Khz output is stopping. Have you checked that you have the most up to date drivers from the manufacturer’s website?

December 9, 2009 at 12:59 am #9102LeifKeymasterSounds like a sound card driver issue. After my horrendous experience with horrendously expensive Digigram VXPocket a few years back, I’ve never really given this brand another look, and I still keep hearing bad things.
Breakaway is actually very proactive when it comes to dealing with the sound card. If a stream fails for any detectable reason, Breakaway will actually close it and re-open it within a couple of seconds. This is why you can actually disconnect a USB device, then reconnect it, and Breakaway will re-open it and continue processing.
Of course, if it fails in an undetectable manner, for example data keeps flowing but the sound card doesn’t actually output the audio, that’s a different story — software can not work around that kind of hardware bug. I’ve noticed this to happen with EMU 0202/0404 USB devices.

January 21, 2010 at 3:53 pm #9104AnonymousGuestAfter a month without interruption yesterday again slammed the MPX OUT and only works in Stereo Out I have on the Internet Broadcast …
And to say that it made no change to the pc.What can blame;; !
If I install K-Lite Codecs will help anywhere or not;;January 22, 2010 at 5:50 am #9105LeifKeymasterI have to blame the sound card drivers. The thing is, Breakaway constantly monitors the mpx output, and if the sound card stops requesting data, Breakaway reopens it. This is why it’s even possible to unplug an USB sound card when Breakaway is running, and when you plug it back in, audio continues after a few seconds!
So, for this to fail, the sound card drivers must keep requesting data, and then not play it, so that Breakaway has no idea that the audio failed. There is no way to solve this except better drivers or another sound card. I’ve seen EMU 0202 do this as well.
Digigram will never be on my list of recommended cards because of previous bad experiences AND high price. I do recommend ESI Juli@ or Marian Trace Alpha though.
