    Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me.

Our system is currently installed under the Administrator account on the local machine on Win2k3 and Breakaway works well and license key installed. However, we have just joined the same machine to a Windows domain to make it easier to control access, shared drives etc but the Breakaway software starts up in Demonstration mode rather than licensed mode. Is there anyway to deal with this or do I have to re-enter the license key when we join/remove our machines from the domain?

    Many thanks.

    Hi Andy,

I’ll admit I’ve never tested this, but in order to not require an administrator account to run, Breakaway stores all settings locally for the user account instead of globally for the machine. Thus, if you change to another user account, you do have to enter the license key again. I’m guessing that joining the domain in some way changes the user account.

    Best regards,

    Leif,

Thanks for the explanation to this. I just tried to enter our original license code using the domain user account but it keeps telling me its an invalid license so not sure if we’ve now exceeded a limit on the times the key can be used. If that’s the case then we’ll purchase another key to get us around the issues. If there is not a limit on the key then clearly something else is causing the key to show as invalid when on a domain user account.

We can work around it Leif – it was just to provide a little more flexibility on our side but its not a show-stopper

When will your hardware be available?

    Best wishes,

    Andy

There is no limit on the key! If there was a limit, it would happen during activation.

    Try the following:

In the About box, right-click the OK button and select "Remove Registration Key". After restarting Breakaway, try entering your key again.

The hardware is coming within weeks! http://www.omniaaudio.com/9

    Leif,

Thanks – I’ll check this again tomorrow.

Just checked out the Omnia.9 and looked at the video of the demo. You mentioned at the end about the possibility of being able to send the MPX to remote transmitters and leave the Omnia in the studio. This is something we would wish to do – studio process once and send the MPX direct to the transmitter however not sure if there is any commercial product that can do this or is this something you are thinking about. At the moment we process on-site but all for reducing hardware are remote sites if possible.

    Sorry this is slightly off-topic.

    Andy
