    I’ve been to the sound processing freak day today and made some movies of the presentation of Leif’s new box.
    I think i’m gonna put it online so everyone can see what’s leif been working on the last year.
    I’ll post the link as soon as i get the movie ready for the internet and uploaded it to the server.

    Oh, my… very impressive results with that multiband declipper. When he demoed it with The Donnas’ song, I could plainly hear the difference, even through the little camera mic!

    (That part is at 16:23, and he A/Bs it at 16:58 and 17:34)

    The declipper itself is actually before the multiband dynamics restoration stuff. The dynamics restoration works to a varying degree (completely based on program material) even without clipping or hard limiting present in the original. Even though it doesn’t do much for stuff with already great dynamics (like Donald Fagen from the early 80s), it’s still going to bring out detail in the recordings if it’s "lacking" anywhere.

    The way it works is absolutely uncanny. Of course it’s more complicated than it looks.

    Thanks a lot eldoradofm for this recording 🙂 It looks very promising, and I’m really looking forward the software versions that will be made available.

    (BTW I wondered what was the jokes at 28:36 and 31:38 and 34:23 and after too.. like 53:06 I can’t get it ? 😉)

    Good one Leif 😉 I also love the "Because we can" statement, I know (and am a customer of) a hosting company here in France (OVH) and they do a lot of stuff too, because they can 🙂 for example, SIP telephony, SMS gateway, VPS, and ADSL provider too…

    I’ve got a question though, but I wasn’t there: what about the Breakaway versions? Will they be made available before the box? Which features? And last, can I get a free license, "because you can" give it to me ? 😉 (kidding of course, you deserve your money 😉)
