I’ve just started playing with BA and all I can say is wow – what an amazing tool! I need to echo previous posters that have said how great it would be to have this capability embedded in portable music devices. I was a car-audio nut from about mid-90’s up until right before mass-storage portable music players (Ipod) became commonplace. One of the reasons I became dispassionate with the hobby was I got sick of babysitting the volume knob anytime I wanted to really give music a good ear while driving.
I would absolutely love see this type of capability, even if only in a much simpler form, built into car-audio DSP units. I just can’t understand why none of the so-called "high end" names in the business (Audio Control for ex.) still haven’t caught onto the need after all these years. Heck I think a "compression" knob belongs right next to the volume knob on basically any piece of audio equipment.
From what I gather BA only does real-time processing and doesn’t create "processed" files.
Can anyone suggest an application that can process a library of classical cds (already ripped to flac) into dynamically-compressed mp3 that I can play in my car?
Once again, this seems like a great tool you’ve created! If nothing else, I’ll probably learn a bunch about music dynamics playing with it!
