If anyone can give me good advice on this, I'd be grateful. I want to start doing internet radio again. But most of the companies that are legitimate offer a bit rate for streaming no higher than 128 kps.

I want to be legal. So, would a mono stream at 128 be acceptable?

    Again, all advice is appreciated.

There's nothing legal about what bitrate you stream at.. One major consideration you need to think about is how to reach the most people. 128kbps is a little steep for most mobile listeners. But is fairly decent from a desktop or laptop PC on a home or office network. 64kbps is a good sweetspot on HE-AAC (or AAC+). That codec is fairly universal at this point and that bitrate sounds really good. I wouldn't do mono, ever. I hope that helps.

It does help, so, thank you.
