I’m using RVR TEX-LCD/30S Stereo Exciter with Fora RDS encoder. I love both of them but I do need an fm processor.
Can I use the internal stereo encoder whith this fm processor or I shell set the exciter to MONO mode? As far as I understang, I shell connect M-Audio In with the mixer Out and then connect M-Audio Out 1/2 to the exciter XLR as "FM out left" and "FM out right". Am I right?April 30, 2010 at 9:28 am #10629AnonymousGuestDear Pinka;
1. BBP Stereo Encoder processing (incl. Preemphasis process), is far better than RVR TEX-LCD/30S does. So, IMHO, you should connect M-Audio L or R (not both) as MPX Output. Connect to RVR Exciter MPX input, and set RVR exciter as MONO. You only need to adjust (decrease) MPX level, because M-Audio has +4dBm Output and RVR TEX-LCD/30S has -10dBV MPX Input.
2. You can still connect external RDS encoder (FORA ?) to RVR Exciter SCA input.

Tonight I’m going to try it at last. Looking forward to great sound. I’ll write what I get as soon as I get anything on the air 🙂

O.K. I did it… It took a day to find the best pair of PC+M-Audio. I’m sorry to say that the best of extra PCs was P-IV 2,8/1 Gb RAM. So after some dancing with BBP ASIO I gave up and installed WDM (DirectX or whatever) version. It does work! Much more latency (about a second), but it works stable.The answer to my question is:
Make a pair of Canon-F/Jack-M cables, make a Jack-M/BNC cable.
1. Unplug both XLR and connect them to the soundcard.
2. Disconnect RDS Out both from the encoder and from the SCA-1
3. Set the exciter to Mono mode
4. Connect sound card Out to RDS encoder MPX In
5. Connect RDS encoder’s RDS+MPX to exciter’s RDS+MPXThat was quite easy.
—————Another question is WHAT WAS THAT ANNOYING SPEECH??? If only I knew it’s gonna say something on the air, I’d never install it! PLEASE make a message box when the program starts up that it’s gonna say some advertising. I understand what it is made for, but it was out of sudden and I’m glad it happened just a song after the commercial brake. I AM going to buy the ASIO version (and a better PC to run it) and I had two hours of good sound. Within the two hours my listeners had a chance to hear something they didn’t understand as most of them don’t speak English at all. 🙂
I’d prefer 2 weeks of trial rather than such a "Trial forever". 2 weeks is a good term to show the result, to get the money and to send them.

Anyway, thank you very much for your job! I will buy the processor as soon as I can! -
