    Hi!,

I’ve the BBP software running with a Hercules Fortissimo IV soundcard.
Is this soundcard good? Should I buy a better soundcard such as ESI-Juli@?

Is anybody using it too with BBP? Could anybode tell me the Tilt value?

    Thanks. 🙂

    Hi,
I can’t find very much info on your soundcard but it does seem to use the envy24 chip which I would guess means it does run at 192Khz but at what quality, it’s hard to know.
The current line of Hercules cards look very cheap and nasty so IMO i’d upgrade if you are having problems either of the ESI cards are very good the Maya44PCI or the Juli@ are very good but if you can stretch to it, get the Marian Trace Alpha, there is no better card for Breakaway.

As for the tilt value, there is no such thing as a correct tilt value for this card or that card as it is individual for each individual card and transmitter setup. It needs to be set up properly using the methods shown on the website.
There is only one card where the tilt level is known for all setups and that is the Trace Alpha and the tilt value for that card is 0..

The only acceptable "quick" method I sometimes use is IF you have a transmitter with a deviation display, you can set the tilt (roughly) by selecting the 60hz SQ wave, adjusting tilt for minimum deviation on the display, then go back to normal output and adjust transmitter input level to 75Khz deviation.

    Thanks!

I’ve done what you said. Then, the tilt for this card is 0 🙂
