It seems pretty random but I will get the occasional fit of garbled or echoey audio from my stream. Here’s my basic setup:

    Dell PE830 Pentium D 2.8ghz 4gb ecc ram
    Windows XP Pro 32-bit
Soundblaster Audigy 2zs (latest drivers) (let’s just say I have to use this card)
    Winamp
    Breakaway
    Edcast Standalone (latest from ClubRio)
    Shoutcast DNAS

Attached is an MP3 sample I recorded from my stream on another system recorded on Audacity from winamp.

A couple notes, It was also happening on this machine when it was built with x64 win2003. When I was running a test stream on another system with win7x64, it would do this fit but never recover until I restarted the stream (winamp/edcast/shoutcast). On my PE830, it only does this for a few seconds and then recovers. I’ve also seen this with the original edcast. It happens on all of my 3 streams 32kbps aac+, 64kbps AAC+ and 128kbps MP3 (this stream is hosted by a third party provider, the two aac+ are hosted at my home with fiber). I don’t see any unusual CPU or memory spikes during these fits.

If you could just listen to the audio and tell me what I’m hearing, that would then help me/us troubleshoot the issue.

    Thanks!
