I have a new PC so I’ve installed on my breakaway and edcast, it all seems to work, but when I stream the playback sounds "delayed" like pitch down 10%. also standalone with edcast i have the same problem. i’ve installed it like the how-to on this website made by leif.
when i use another streamtool like opticodec i don’t have that problem. i’ve also tried other encoders in edcast like aac . but this doesn’t solved my problem?

    Can anyone help me????

Check that you have the correct sample rate selected on the output config screen, if your streaming at 44100 but the L/R output is at 48000 then this may cause an issue, might not but give it a look.
I’ve certainly never came across this problem with edcast (DSP or standalone) and I’m very likely to have overlooked a samplerate or two..

This is a really strange problem! It’s definitely a sample rate mismatch, but I’m also curious how it could happen. Please post screenshots of your configuration, and explain how you’ve connected things together, and we should be able to figure it out. Also, are you running Edcast DSP or Edcast Standalone?

i use edcast as dsp but i have the same problem with edcast standalone.
i post the screenshots later this day because i’m at work now.
the strange thing is that in the setup i set up to stream at 160kbps but in the status it let see 174 kbps.
and in the winamp player i see 160kbps

I use OddCastv3 and months ago, I have the same problem, I resolve changing the dll libraries of OddCastv3 for the last dll libraries, installing the last Winamp and get the last libraries..

    Good luck!

    That makes total sense, Thagurt.

    174 / 160 = 1.0875

    44100 * 1.0875 = 47958.75

That’s close enough to be a rounding error.

It seems BBP is telling Edcast that it’s sending audio at 44100 even though the rate is actually 48000.

Here’s a big question — are you using Livelink in any way?

stupid me i’ve found the problem thanks to yorkie98.
the output samplerate from breakaway live was 48000hz and the stream 44100hz.
but i thought the problem was also with edcast standalone. nevermind it works and i am happy.

    another question:

what is the difference on the scoop between "input" and "input post fx"
because i see at the normal input the sound clipping when the audio comes a little bit to loud from my broadcastmixer. when i select input post fx i do not see that clipping.
is it to much audio for my audiocard’s input? i cannot trim the output from my broacastmixer.
    thanks for all the help

Input Post FX looks at the audio *after* any effect plug-ins.

If you’re seeing clipping on Input, the indeed the signal is too loud for the sound card. If there’s no trim on either the broadcast mixer or the sound card, you’ll have to build a passive attenuator.

Doing so is extremely simple — all you need is 4 resistors, or a stereo potentiometer. I’ll be happy to draw a schematic for you if you need it.

If you are using a cheap (such as a realtek onboard) soundcard, you will often find them very intolerant to high line level inputs and when these clip, they clip very harshly. Even a reasonably modest soundcard (such as an Audigy) can handle high line input levels better and don’t have that sudden all-or-nothing crackly clipping like the realteks. Bear in mind that if you are using balanced (+4dB) outputs on your mixer, this is much higher than the consumer (-10dB, 0.75mv pk-pk) inputs that most soundcards can handle. Like leif said, you may need to attenuate the output from the mixer if you have no option to use a consumer level output on your mixer.
Also remember that turning down the input level in the PCs mixer does not often solve this as if the input level is too high, you are clipping the pre-amps on the input at the point of entry and nothing will get rid of the clipping, except for input attenuation.

I know about that, i have an m-audio card for input.
i have put an leveler between the mixer and the pc, in the leveler i screw down the output level. so that is ok.

    Another question 🙂

from our studio ill going to stream the signal. pick it up at the transmitter site with an pc with breakaway broadcast and go then on-air.
i have done some tests and ill have the best quality result when i stream a leveled signal and then at the end bbp doing the big job. But than i don’t have processed audio for listen back in the studio.
i want to breakaway live (with same preset as bbp)for listen back. but when i stream the leveled signal straight from the line breakaway live gives an error.
i want the leveled signal on my standalone edcast and breakaway live for the studio is this possible???

Yes, it is possible. What error are you getting, and what is your configuration?
