Hello All,
I have acquired the above soundcard for free and have been doing a lot of research on using this card with Breakaway Broadcast.
I have read that some people think this is a dirty card for breakaway, but on researching hardware mods to this card I have now removed and shorted the 4 coupling capacitors C33, C56, C43 and C44 (between the DAC and the output op amp LM4556). This now makes this card DC Straight with around 200mv of dc offset at the output.
Will the simple above mod make this a great card for BBP as no tilt adjustment would be required.
There are quite a few other mods to this card to improve the sound quality one is to change the output op amp to a much better quality and removing the muting transistors from the output as well as changing some capacitors.

As large caps as used in that mod, they might get you a pretty respectable peak control in the bass. Not fully DC straight, but you also won’t have that 200mV offset, which is most easily dealt with by a large cap. It’s the first thing I would try, if there’s no way to get rid of that large offset.
I don’t think the offset will be a problem as the Exciter will have a coupling cap before the modulator. I haven’t made any other mods to that card appart from removing the 4 coupling caps. With the 4 caps in place the DC offset of the card was 30mv per channel.
