MemberI’ve had BBP for less than two years…finally, recently, I was able to actually have it on the air in my market (instead of "playing" with it)…having just finished up doing some fine-tuning…I have to say again…how floored I am by the listenability of BBP, even at high loudness levels.
Somewhere, I read that Goran said he knew he had settings right when he could listen to the processing and not think about it. Not since analog processing, have I really enjoyed the sound of an audio processor THIS much!
Eruption is the real deal…running Jesse’s stereo challenger setting, no bass plugin, slam/clunk 2/2, final drive +1.6, range at 58, power at 53 and speed at 48. bass shape +23 bass boost/cut +4. Very loud, very open…and a TON of detail. Very easy to listen to it, considering how loud it really is!
I did hear Gypsy from Fleetwood Mac playing today and Stevie’s vocal was dead centered and "echoing"…it was actually a pleasing effect, the first time I’ve heard Stereo Challenger overly "remix" something.
You have one smoking hot product, guys.

MemberAwesome sgeirk! People who post their presets are doing God’s work.
I have a question for you in particular, because you had previously commented on the highs being "a little strident for my taste", and looking for a way to "calm the highs a smidge". I agreed with that assessment at the time, so after I saw this post I wanted to ask you how that issue worked out. Are you now pleased with the treble balance relative to other stations in the market? If so, do you know what solved that issue? (Switching from Plutonium to Eruption, or some other factor?)
Would appreciate any wisdom you gained regarding the highs. Thanks again!

MemberI tried adjusting the preemphasis down to 50 and it removed too much of the highs. That was with Plutonium.
Frankly, the difference was switching to Eruption.

MemberWell, my compliments to you, sgerik. I’ve tried out your presets on my station for the last couple of hours, and it sounds amazing. I think I have a keeper here.

MemberThanks, I’ve changed things a bit…I am now using the same pre-STL feed that our $10,800.00 processor is taking…which is a compellor…and feeding that into Breakaway as well. Heresy, perhaps to some. (leveling only…no compression on the compellor and certainly no stereo enhancement).
I like it. Slightly more density. I backed out of eruption’s range, certainly…and backed out a touch of range and speed, too.
