High, can I get a brief primer or pointed to any existing literature on what both clunk and slam are?

Are there any particular use cases they are best applied to?

While I am at it, what does the Bass efx do?

~Thank you kindly for any time spent answering these.

I am seeking the definitive answer, and will get back to you. They are not things that I personally use.

If any other members has some knowledge of these effects, please contribute.

I have found this information in the soon-to-be-released operating manual. I hope this helps explain the various options.

Thanks for the update and information. Glad to hear a manual is being released. It reads:

“Clunk & Slam: Mimic phase response irregularities of a certain popular brand
    of audio processors.
o Adds a quality of clunk and slam to percussion sounds through a bit of
    all-pass magic”

Milky, could you inquire definitions of clunk and slam? I have a better idea of what it’s doing as of your latest post however I am not quite sure what to expect in entirety. Does slam affect only higher frequencies? Is clunk a type of sub-harmonic bass enhancer? Thanks kindly!

I think that you just have to let your ears decide if it works for you or not. Obviously, it won’t work with all types of music, but may bring out some percussion characteristics in some genres.

Oh, excellent! I completely missed this thread! I’m pretty certain there are no subharmonic enhancements built into BreakawayOne, though I could be wrong. All I know is I can’t hear much of any difference when I adjust the Clunk, Slam, and Bass EFX. This is why I would like a difference/delta monitoring setting for each filter.

Having read the descriptions, I’m more interested in Leif’s multiband percussion expander in Undo, and the subharmonics synth in Solar Plexus than ever.
