Hi!
I cannot set Breakaway pipeline to be the standard audio out in windows. If i do it just defaults back to my normal sound card. This means unfortunately i can only use breakaway from applications that let me set them to use it. for example, listening to music from the net, songza or other streaming doesnt use breakaway… 🙁
What have I done wrong? I tried reinstalling…

i dont know if this will help, i noticed a glitch – i dont know what causes it but sometimes when i launch pandora, which is a web browser radio station, i see the audio going through breakaway (the scope) but no audio comes through my speakers. While this is happening i can still hear things that i can select breakaway in just fine. I found the soultion to be right clicking on the main window of breakaway and going in and out of settings, clicking finish on the settings menu resets something and it comes on instantly.

Does this happen even if Breakaway isn’t running?
I wonder if there’s a program loaded on your system that is interfering with the default sound device selection.
It might be worth disabling all the things loaded on your startup and see if you can narrow down which one it is. I personally use a program called "Codestuff Starter" to oversee and easily enable/disable things from loading at startup.
Hydro, I do have a clue, and it’s not related to Pandora at all.
Breakaway, when started at windows startup, starts in "do not complain" mode. If it fails to open the output sound card (for example due to a windows startup sound already playing), it doesn’t tell you — it just keeps on trying.
In this state, you’ll see the audio coming into the input oscilloscope, but not coming out of the output scope.
It should start working by itself (it retries every few seconds) – I’m not sure why it doesn’t do it properly on your system.
Going into the Settings *completely* restarts the audio engine – good thing at least this works.
If you want to try to narrow down the problem (and you’re comfortable using RegEdit), open regedit and navigate to the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun…and look at the Breakaway string value. You’ll note the command line parameter "force". If you remove this, the next time you start your computer, if Breakaway can’t open the sound card on the first try, it will give you an error message. This message might be a clue to track down what’s going on.
