Bypass & FM Mode

Hi… Can someone inform me as to what the 'bypass' and 'FM Mode' do?  Thank you.

I tested out several audio enhancers that I found through Google.  Breakaway is definitely the best.  It works better than the others and has the slickest interface.

This is minor, but still curious nonetheless.  When I run my audio through Breakaway, Windows has to load before I get sound.  So I don't get the Windows login sound.  Only if I run my sound through my speakers, using my VIA audio driver.  Anyway to get the sound back.  It's not important.  I'm just used to hearing that sound.
