Hi..
I’ve been using Breakaway One for some time now with an audio playout system. It has a tendency to stop operating if there’s too much silence in a file. It seems to take some fiddling to get it to restart. Why would it stop working?
June 22, 2022 at 3:12 pm #16797MilkyKeymasterWhat type of core are you using?
I am using an HD core on my home system, plus streaming it to a closed IP so I can listen in my car, and it plays 24/7. there are also many, many radio stations streaming and/or broadcasting FM or AM 24/7/365, so I would think that the problem is localised to your system somehow. Please provide as much information as you can.June 22, 2022 at 4:07 pm #16798MrKloroxParticipantIs Silence Sense turned on?
Check Core> Miscellaneous> I/O> Main Input> Silence Sense
If you have a second core configured, you can pass it through to the primary core when it detects silence. There might be a misconfiguration somehow.
Check Core> Miscellaneous> I/O> Input 2> Input 2 Source and see if it’s trying to use a core that isn’t there or something.
Outside of this setting, I’m not sure what else it could be off the top of my head.

Good pickup.

System: Dell Inspiron 15. Intel I7 processor- 16gb memory, SSD (2g).
Playout is RCS Player 101. It’s their standalone NexGen player. I’ve had it in use since 2004 and it’s been very good (aside from some usual playout system quirks). I spent years with Clear Channel and had access to their music library and its labeling system. (It’s not available anymore-but there are many free systems these days -and this was relatively expensive.) I’ve got about 9,000 songs in there (and various MP3 files with interviews and such) and haven’t worked up the courage to try the file conversion.
Playout goes to Breakaway Pipline-into Breakaway One and out to Sound Blaster Play! 3.
Started with Breakaway Live back in the early 2000s, upgraded to Breakaway One and when I started having issues (crashing as listed here) I picked up Breakaway and I’ve been very happy with that – but if this is working as it seems to be I can confidently use Breakaway One. (I should have reached out earlier).
Thanks for all of your help!
