I know that in (unregistered) trial mode from time to time the audio advertisement to buy it "appears".
But does it happen too in bypassed mode ?
I think it would be better to disable it in bypassed mode for people to evaluate BA Live without the need to deinstall (and later reinstall) it or change their audio driver everytime they want to watch a movie without BA Live processing.January 11, 2010 at 2:17 pm #9686LeifKeymasterVery good point. I honestly don’t remember whether it also appears in Bypass or not, but it would certainly be a good idea for it not to. I’ll check and make sure.

January 15, 2010 at 12:41 pm #9687michi95MemberI asked my brother to check it with BA Live trial.
I told him to use the Bypass and described it very simple ("the button has to be red" etc.) and let BA Live run (in Bypass !) for a minimum of two hours.
So I have no doubt that he really set it to Bypass.
After approximately an hour he heard someone talking to him. 🙄
It must have been you Leif.Imagine:
He (my brother or someone else) is watching a thriller (via DVB card) and suddenly and without any warning he cannot listen to a very important dialogue for the whole movie plot.
Even for well-known movies like "Casablanca" it would be annoying.
Instead of Bogie, Ingrid Bergman would have to listen to you Leif.So either an explicit warning about this audio interception during trial mode after every start of BA Live or disable it when it is set to Bypass.
And Leif don’t ge me wrong, you have a good voice, but it would have an extra charm if these words would be spoken by a female and not a male voice.
And it would be perfect if she has a nice Swedish local accent.

Ok, I don’t know if Ingrid Bergman has time to do it for you.
But what about your girl-friend or your sister ?I remember that I bought more numbers a year of the german "Keys" magazine as long as the examples on the audio CD were spoken by a girl called Gia.
No doubt, males and females prefer and trust more in female (less aggressive) voices.January 15, 2010 at 5:09 pm #9688LeifKeymasterHeh, well, I guess everyone’s different. I bought a TomTom GPS for my car and initially set it to female voice. Then, as I missed a couple of turns, I got seriously annoyed at the woman nagging at me, and switched to the male voice instead. Worked much better for me anyway 😉.
I’ll still remove the commercial from trial mode though.

January 15, 2010 at 6:51 pm #9689RodeoJackMemberI’ve always been slightly bothered by those who feel they need such specific warnings for everything…. kind of reminds me of the stack of "liability labels" you see on common step ladders these days. Sometime during my last annual inspection, someone put a decal on my plane… "Warning… This aircraft to be operated only by qualified personnel"… Duh! 🙄
Still, if anyone really needs to be reminded that an unpaid version of Leif’s products come with periodic "buy me" suggestions, I’d say a simple notice in the download area should be sufficient.
Being a broadcast engineer with frequent reminders of what hardware processors cost, I’m amazed that anyone would quibble over the extremely reasonable prices of Breakaway products.
