Breakaway Audio Enhancer is 2.0 channels only.

There will be a theater product with at least 5.1 surround, and UPMAX II algorithm built in (!!!) some time in the near future. It’ll blow your mind when you hear how good it is. Although many live events use it, like the SuperBowl, Olympics, and tons of network TV stuff, so you already hear it more than you probably imagined.

I am having the same problem. I first tried BAE about a month ago under Win XP. It worked beautifully and I was going to purchase it. However I did a clean install of Windows 7 first and finally got everything the way I wanted so I installed BAE again. This time I only have sound from the front 2 speakers. Before it was all speakers. It is not possible that a product would be working as intended by not sending sound to all speakers. I am using an ASUS Xonar D2X in a carpc.

Okay, found it tonight and all is beautiful again.
Right click on BAE’s UI somewhere and select Settings. You’ll get this screen
    http://www.claessonedwards.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=59
Over there on the right you have Input 2 Channels and Output 8 Channels. Click on the arrow next to the
8 and select 8(all). Click Finish at the bottom. Sound to all speakers.

Ah yea I forgot it could do that, my bad. Note: it’s still not surround sound, just L/R being sent to more than 2 outputs.
