    I am using breakaway on win 8.1 and I get a lot of cranking once a while. Tried DS KS and even increasing buffer. I know its not my souncard driver as it works fine if I turn off breakaway. I also tried win7 compatibility but doesnt work either. Also on same hardware on win 7 its fine. What to do?

    There is a Breakaway Audio Enhancer icon on the system tray. Right click on it and click "Shutdown Breakaway".
    Then go to the start screen and search "Breakaway" and click on "Breakaway Audio Enhancer". (Simply,, restart Breakaway, or restart your PC).
    This should solve your problem.
