Hello there,
I’d like to know what you think of some sort of system that lets you process a bunch of files into Breakaway and save the processed result somewhere else. I’m asking that because ‘I’m often in need of playing file in my car or on my smartphone, but they obviously dont’ have any sort of breakaway running (or perhaps by running a laptop in the car or in my bag but that’s not practival, not secure and it doesn’t lasts very long).
The idea would then to make a preset, ask Breakaway to quickly process these files, save them to an SD card to make them play with good sound quality on poor man’s players. I could do that with a program that would automatically play and record files going thru the pipelines, but that’s not a very great solution, and it takes a long time (all the playing time).
What do you think? Is something is already planned for that?

http://www.linearacoustic.com/aerofile.htmBut you’re looking at thousands of $. I’m not sure how much that is, but I would guess above 10 grand, if not above 15 grand. It’s not outrageously priced either. Plus you’ll need a RadiantGrid cloud which runs into the 100s of thousands, depending on what kind of scale you need.
What IS outrageously priced is Breakaway. 😉
Anyways… I don’t think you’re going to see something like this from Breakaway, at a hobbyist price, unless it can be done without trampling on Leif’s professional products.

I was hoping it might be part of Leif’s new Breakaway products.
April 19, 2011 at 10:47 pm #12155AnonymousGuestBreakaway won’t batch process since it’s a "real time" processor.
The "easiest" way to process your audio (once you’re done with the set-up) is to run a private Edcast/Shoutcast server, enable metadata, disable all fade-in/out/silence killer/etc and rip your stream with Streamripper. Streamripper will record the audio-tracks separately and with artist-title data.
Or you can record everything and later cut/paste – add title/artist.
I use the "server option", I select a bunch of tracks and let my computer do the work 🙂

The "real-time" is not a requirement, it’s just processing sound it’s being fed with, so if you feed it with some wave data instead of a sound stream, it’ll do its job just fine. If Leif thought it was possible, then it IS possible 🙂 "Gewoon omdat het kan" 😉
