Leif: We at WIBBAGE FM@94.3 and at WIBG1020AM & 101.3FM are overwhelmed at the performance
standards that we've been able to achieve with Breakaway. And that is just using Breakway Audio
Enhancers in conjunction with Mike Errickson's Wheatstone FM-2000. An incredible audio package.
Nothing comes close to it.
My AM needs some TLC- We are currently using the enhancer ONLY as the final before the audio leaves
studio, travels through a Barix, then via Moseley LanLink to our transmitter site 3 miles away.
Here is the question: Our AM NRSC Processor is an old CRL-PMC-450. Recently, the LPB 3kW AM transmitter
continues to blow MOSFET modulators and we believe it is being caused by overshoots in the CRL:.
When we undermodulate the CRL the problem appears to go away. Does the Breakway Broadcast unit
conform to the ridiculour NRSC mask? According to our Belar AM Mod monitor, we are right at 115%positive and
94% negative, but I have occassionally noticed the metering plow. I think that is what is killing these
expensive mosfets. Any guidance as to how, as a novice engineer, I should proceed with the implementation
of the BBS. I love your program, and you've got all the other radio stations in the Atlantic City-Cape May market
wondering what we've done to sound so good. You are pure genious! Rick Brancadora President/CEO WIBG AM-FM & FM
