    Hi all!

I am planning to use BBP or BBP Asio in the nearby future.
I now have the trail version running on my home computer.
But i can’t take it with me to the studio.
My wife wouldn’t appriciate that

Now i’m planning to build a new computer for the use of BBP.
In the stock i found an old Pentium 3 computer.
Os on this machine is XP proffesional.
It has 2 4gig hard disk drives on board.

Is it possible to make this machine ready for BBP?
My thougts were to swap the motherboard. With dual or quad core processor.

Now i need some help finding a good and suitable one.
I usally buy my computer stuff here: http://www.maxict.nl/cat/159/1/Moederborden
But they got so many and while i’m not a computernerd i would really need some advice in what too buy.

Can someone help me on this?

It doesn’t have to be state of the art.
It has to be an reliable machine to work with.

    Hi KLF!

It may not be worth upgrading a Pentium 3 computer, because you will still need new ram (DDR2) and maybe a new power supply (with ATX 12v connectors). Basically you would only be keeping the case, and the case is cheap — you might as well buy new stuff. New stuff isn’t expensive at all nowadays, I just built a machine today for 3200 SEK (315 euros) and that includes 25% sales tax!

This price included case, gigabyte socket 775 motherboard, 1gb PC800 ram, Pentium Dual Core E5300, a 4gb usb stick, AND an ESI Juli@ card!

These were retail prices (I bought in stores) — online would be cheaper.
