i know people have written their own presets, is there a way to do deeper adjustments to them?
in my case, i use the Reference Settings preset as it feels the most natural in a live situation (Karaoke), but the AGC seems off. what i mean is, if the input from my software is in the -18 to peaking at -12 range (the happy place for digital audio) it raises the volume a bit. but if i have a stray track that is literally clipping the input, the AGC STILL stays in positive territory. is there a way i can adjust the script more deeply to allow the AGC to decrease volume on a track that is inputting over x level?
under -18, increase until it is within -18
over -18, decrease until it is within -18

I’ve never edited the preset files, but, apparently, they are textual and will open in Notepad. One of our members, “MrKlorox” has made reference to making changes. Perhaps he will reach out and offer some guidance.

Sadly, I’ve only fumbled around with a few settings; most of which are just set further than the UI allows, such as the Limiter and stuff. I wanted to make some kind of UI that allows fiddling with some of the unexposed settings, but it’s way over my head, and I never got an ‘okay’ from the management.

I would start by exporting a copy of the preset then open up the amx file in a text editor and see what you can figure out. Try this with other presets and compare settings, especially those that are not in some presets. I want to say there are multiple AGC modes and ways to adjust the levels they react to, but I can’t verify atm as I don’t currently have BA1 on this computer.

    Good Luck!!

edit: ah this is for BA1, not for BAE. Sorry for the confusion. I don’t think it’s possible to do what I’m talking about in BAE.

Thanks for the input anyway, MrKlorox.

oh well, thanks for chiming in. makes me wonder even more how other people get their presets built to become part of the BAE release.

I think the other people who got their presets added to BAE are close associates of Leif who also work in another similar software, but not this one itself. Likely some form of Omnia processor; which, to my understanding, is the source of the Breakaway algorithms.
