Sometimes I like to take some very poorly mastered audio files with the dynamic range and EQ all over the place and re-record them “as I hear” using BAE.

Problem is: the only technique available is to record Stereo Mix of the audio output as the file plays. Imagine a podcast 3h long. You have to hit record, wait 3 hours, then edit the blank spaces and synch to the video, rencode and render again.
In other words: way too much work.

Something easily solved by a VST plugin. One click and the whole audio rendered as “magnifying glass” for example.

What about replicating it with other VSTs, like Waves for example?
Then you need EQ, multiband EQ, DeEsser, Compressors, Limiters, Clippers, BassBoosters, Noise Removers, Gates, Expanders, Reverbs, etc, etc, etc.
    With BAE VST: one click.

    Is this possible to exist?

I empathize. I came to Breakaway from using Leif’s older winamp plugins to master tracks for the cassette deck in my friend’s car. Had to record those the old-fashioned way too (aka dubbing).

I believe a file-based option exists for Omnia products, which are Leif’s bread and butter processors. However for now nothing like this exists for Breakaway products.

: In case it’s somehow been overlooked, please add a file-based processing option to the next-gen BAE/BA1 wishlist. I have seen many people looking to process audio for later playback without a processor available.

I don’t know if it’s gauche to mention other processors, but some others may exist in VST form. That’s probably all I can say. However, they don’t have Leif’s audio engineering behind them, which is a drawback.

Gah, my edit didn’t take. I wanted to mention that plugin-based processors by Leif are unlikely, sadly. We haven’t seen a plugin-based processor from Leif since Volume Logic, which is like 20 years old this year. However, boy wouldn’t that be wonderful?
