Hello,
I’m in charge of the technical department at my radio station. I want to buy a computer especially for Breakaway Broadcast Asio. I want to know what is the perfect configuration to use with this software.
I figure this:
Operating Sistem: W Xp or W server 2003. (I can use some help)
Processor: Core 2 Duo
Ram: 2Gb
Sound cards: 2 Asio compatible (here is where I also would need some help)I hope you can give me some sugestions, thanks a lot!
February 1, 2010 at 12:31 pm #9809timmywaParticipantI think primo would be winxp, ram is here nor there, CPU intel dual core, audio cards i think most recommended here are the Marian Trace8 or Alpha and the ESI Juli@. Just from my trolling here.

February 2, 2010 at 11:26 am #9811AnonymousGuestThank you guys for the suggestions. Correct me if I’m wrong this will be the sound cards?
Esi-Juli@ http://www.esi-audio.com/products/julia
Marian: Trace 8 http://www.marian.de/en/products/trace8
Alpha http://www.lexiconpro.com/product.php?id=7Do I need to buy 2 soundcards? Or it will be just fine with one? The signal will come from the studio directly to the pc, then it will go (processed by BB Asio) by optical fiber to the transmitter.
Again guys, if you have any suggestions, I will apreciate it.
Good day!

Just put audio signal to sound card (digital or balanced)
Any of sound cards from your list is good choice. i use Juli@ and it’s very simple to route signal thru it.That optical signal you wont to sand to transmitter is L/R or MPX ? If it’s L/R that you will use Stereo Coder from transmitter which is bad idea. It’s better to use MOX from BA.
If it’s optical MPX … then it’s not possible because these sound cards are not 192kHz at optical output.btw Marian Trace Alpha http://www.marian.de/en/products/trace_alpha not Lexicon
February 7, 2010 at 12:53 pm #9813AnonymousGuestHello again guys. Tomorrow I will present the BBO PROJECT to the board, hope they will give it a go. I think ESI Juli@ will be my choice. Thanks for the answers, still I have some issues unclear. Please If you can clear me out on this ones:
1.MPX- Why is better? I’m thinking of analog MPX output. Can I send the MPX signal from the soundcard to the transmitter ( http://www.abe-s.com/DB/PDF/pm120-200-300.pdf ) through optical fiber with a media converter( this is the one – http://fibridge-tr.com/eng/products/cctv/1.htm ) ?
2.MPX Tool, how can this help me, and what do I need? A regular tuner it’s not enough I understand.
Sorry guys, I know for you it sounds like what is 1 + 1, but the MPX subject it’s almost unknowned to me. I will really apreciate your answers, I’m preffering a pro view instead of a google search. Thanks again!
Keep in touch!
