Well I’ve looked on the website and I think I have my answer by the paragraph:

“Separate Low Latency processing with the same settings as the main processor, so that you can use the highest-quality processing for your stream or digital on-air feed while also providing a low-latency headphone feed for the studio.”

I guess then the streaming gets the same treatment as the main processor, and if I want both streaming high quality and low latency realtime processing, I need the Separate Low Latency feature. I’ll check on that and see what I do with the upgrade. I tried it on trial mode and I see it uses double the CPU and RAM, so I don’t know if it’s worth the upgrade considering the low use-case I have for this.

Yes I know that, but latency isn’t part of the preset, it’s part of the core, hence my question. I would assume the stream will get the same quality, but I want to make sure, as I don’t think there’s an easy and convincing way to test it by myself.

Well that’s not a big deal, it’s on a test gear anyway that I run occasionally on trial mode, I wanted to upgrade it because why not but I can still use the older version, it’s good enough πŸ™‚ Well, at least the doc will be up to date πŸ˜‰ Just keep the 32 bits compatibility please, I still use it daily on a repurposed tiny client running Windows 7 Embedded, and it’s perfect for my Home Cinema setup πŸ˜‰ (especially the fact that I can shut it down brutally without breaking the system).

@Milky No no, it’s BreakawayOne 3.30.93 that will refuse to start on Windows XP. BAE 1.44 doesn’t run on XP either but it’s by design, there’s even an error message when you try to run the installer, so that’s good. But BA1 should run in my opinion, at least the documentation says it will. The error message when you start BA1 on XP SP3 is: β€œThe procedure entry point GetTickCount64 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll”

It looks like compatibility with Windows XP SP3 is broken right now: “The procedure entry point GetTickCount64 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll”. The documentation says it should be compatible, and the installer doesn’t complains on install, like BAE 1.40+ does.

(Oh and off-topic, but Milky, please fix the forum: reduce the banner height, and fix the weird blank space in the homepage, between title and forum content)

Thanks for the update! Quick little thing I saw just now: “WDM device buffer count can now be adjusted” but not in Common Monitor Output πŸ™‚

(And I think what @timmywa was saying is that the “Optimum” choice would’ve picked the best option, as the name would imply)

So much hype, I’m so excited, can’t wait to see what this update is all about 😍

Sorry, I didn’t see this thread, and I have a small bug to mention.

Regarding this old problem I had: https://ceaforum.net/?topic=new-version&paged=2#post-16316

I noticed that BAE doesn’t find Breakaway Pipeline (Virtual Audio Cable) when it isn’t configured as WaveRT. I’ve got mine set to WavePCI and BAE tells me that I don’t have the Breakaway Pipeline installed, which is wrong, it’s simply not configured as it wants to. Maybe make it aware of WavePCI mode (and maybe WaveCyclic too).

    Hi Leif! πŸ˜€ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o16LZ1coWp0

(Might be interesting for those of you who asked for streaming encoder output level control, like @timmywa and @k.thelen)

Is there a beta test program planned before any public, official release? Either here in the forum, or in private with some selected/volunteer users maybe. Asking for a friend… πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

I kind of agree with @MrKlorox’s point of view on this matter. I don’t really think BreakawayOne could be suitable as a file-based or plugin. My reasons are that it would only be relevant for one type of core: HD (PassThrough and FM/AM don’t make any sense in that case), and I don’t think it’s a good idea to run your final file inside such a processing tool like this, as it’s mainly intended for “final listening” and not to be used as a source. If you want to give your file a bit of a punch, there’s plenty of other plugins that will do a more lighter processing, but still be suitable for broadcasting.

Long story short, I think BreakawayOne’s purpose makes its current form ideal, but if @timmywa has a different use case, feel free to share it to better understand why you could use it as a plugin πŸ™‚

Hi, and thanks for this opportunity, this is great news for us users of BreakawayOne! πŸ˜€

I’ll go for my list then. Here are the three things I’m thinking about, in order of preference (first is must):

Add infos on the tooltip of some of the sliders/options to know what it does. Not on everything of course (“Volume” or “Bypass processing” is self-explanatory, but “Clunk” and “Slam”…).
Like in Breakaway Live, where you could have some help on the sliders (for example “Power” would explain that it’s “Compression ratio”, what it changes in the preset config, and what it means in term of sound processing).

Have the possibility for a Pass-Through core to get the output of an HD Core as its input. I know that I can grab the HD core input or stream receiver, but not the output.
And/or maybe a complete audio mixer, allowing you to select/mix multiple audio streams that goes inside BreakawayOne, in and out of cores, without having to resort to virtual devices (VAC) and external software (Voicemeeter for example).

Surround/Cinema Mode: Input from 2 to 8 channels and output from 2 to 8 channels. Could be used to process movies, with special channel processing for center/bass. It seems to be possible to use VAC for more than 2 channels, so it could be used locally.
Should be able to upstream from 2 (2.0) to 6 channels (5.1) or 8 (7.1), populating the missing channels accordingly.
Also, if using 6 channels input for example, but only 2 channels (left/right) are currently used (with sound), upstream automatically, but when all 6 channels are in use (aka not silent), don’t upstream.
Note that in my mind that could very well be a new core type (maybe Surround Core), and I would gladly pay for it (arount $100-$200 may be reasonable I guess).

If I think of something else, I’ll keep posting of course πŸ˜‰

    Have a nice day!

Looks like it’s a problem with the VAC install indeed, you should maybe check out this thread [1], with a presumably updated version of Breakaway Pipeline. As I mentioned there, the Breakaway installer will still complain about an “older” version of Pipeline (which is wrong) but maybe you can copy over the install files from another machine, like I did.
