Edcast is here: http://code.google.com/p/edcast-reborn/downloads/list
I don’t have a link for LAME. That’s a JesseG thing.
Thanks.
timmywaParticipant
Timmy,
Was actually listening to your station a little earlier here in the UK…

Thanks for listening!
timmywaParticipantUndo is the one main feature I’m looking for in Breakaway…. come on, Lief!!
Love this product!
timmywaParticipantSo the player has to be able to recognize the replaygain tag…. hmmm.
I wish there was an MP3Gain-like tool just for WAV files. Lossless and batchable.
timmywaParticipantSo I moved that slider all the way to the left, I think -36, and it wasn’t making a difference on playback. Is it actually changing the wavform or just adding a tag?
timmywaParticipantI left all defaults except the LUFS. Changed it from -18 to -23 and while it helped a bit, all my meters still go all pink. Should I just keep lowering that setting? Any other settings I could fiddle with?
Thanks.
timmywaParticipantAlright, thanks for the info! Could you take a screenshot of your optimal settings. There are a lot of choices here! I appreciate it!
timmywaParticipantWhat are your recommended settings for this tool?
For MP3Gain, you recommended 85db for the target level.
What about this tool to get the same, optimal levels?
Thanks.

For optimum sound quality and results for streaming…
Should I: A) Put the 1db attenuator plugin under the Plugins section of Breakaway Live first on the list, or…
B) Put the 1db attenuator plugin under the Encoders section of Breakaway Live, before Edcast?
Any input on this??
Thanks.

B) Put the 1db attenuator plugin under the Encoders section of Breakaway Live, before Edcast?I would put the quality on the Breakaway side of things before the Edcast side of things (meaning using the limiter inside of edcast). I mean no offense to John by saying all this as Edcast is WONDERFUL and does it’s main job FANTASTICALLY!
Thanks for the advice and whatever further explanation you could provide along with the answer.
timmywaParticipantI was allowed the great opportunity to visit Farnsworth Peak in SLC where most of the major FMs broadcast from. I was shown around and saw the little black CC clipper boxes on a few of the station’s racks.
I also was put to work in moving out and in some transmitters. Those dawgs are HEAVY!!
It was very educational and a lot of fun!
timmywaParticipantMy question, if this is just for streaming, why use HPF and enable bandwidth limiting at all? Why not shoot the moon and sound as full and complete as possible? No need to filter to protect a transmitter anywhere…
What is the rationale?
Thanks!
timmywaParticipantHave you tried Rustonium with speed backed down to -30 – -40?
timmywaParticipant
Sorry guys if this has been asked before.
Since lief is/was workig with them is it possible for a new release of Breakaway Broadcast to have a preset that sounds like an Omnia box?
That is, we assume Leif’s working on anything but actual Omnia products… Breakaway not being an actual Omnia product…
timmywaParticipantMy main preset has always been Zenith but I’ve also dabbled in Motor City and Rustonium. The latter is great for an all Christmas format!
