I’m finding that as long as I’m doing nothing but listening to music, the plugin works fine. If I even move my mouse or attempt to multitask, I get a bunch of static and pops – not acceptable! I have adjusted the settings to increase the buffering size to as large as possible, but it still happens. Other than a lousy (none) graphics card, this laptop seems more than fast enough.
Make sure you have installed the latest GPU drivers from Intel, and reboot.

    Then in Breakaway settings….
Make sure "Adaptive SRC" is enabled.
Try playing around with the number of buffers also, and sometimes certain smaller buffer sizes work better than larger ones.
Try switching "Audio Realtime Priority" to the opposite of what it is now.

Some things to start with. 🙂

I’ve already made TV/Movie versions of several of my presets, if that’s any consolation. They have range and AGC adjustments that make them less destructive to the long term dynamics, and all of the consumer Breakaways will have their presets driving the final limiter decently less than they do now. That makes it at least worth trying the demo when it’s available.

I’m also already making an appeal to Leif about possibly putting Undo into BHT, because of how many people will be listening to music through it too. There are ways to deal with that intelligently, like detecting if there is a full-screen application running (and putting settings on it, in case someone is only using their HTPC fullscreen with Winamp visuals, for instance). There’s plenty of time to 💡 about such things before Leif gets around to that part of the stove.
Then are you talking about 5.1 ASIO? Does that exist?
Sorry but you lost me, i don’t get it, can you elaborate some more?

    PS: i have a PS3 for games 🙂
You don’t need ASIO to have more than low enough latency to avoid audio/video sync problems. Try BAE on KS (Kernel Streaming) and even just try the "tiny" setting in the regular setup Wizard. 😉

Windows Vista/7 offers even lower latency through the new audio APIs, so…

The latency isn’t set in stone yet, but it should be at least about as low as you can already get with Breakaway Live. There’s a few changes that made the latency lower, and there’s also some stuff to add (namely: Undo) that add latency. So it should at least be pretty close. 🙂 And in case you’re wondering, there’s no noticeable lag between audio & video. Have you tried playing video games with BAE? 🙂
My only grumble from day one was the limited number of presets available on the initial release, especially when Jesse has issued some tempting tidbits on presets available for other iterations of the program.
None of them are available anywhere yet. The fact that there was less presets was a product of not putting in the time/effort to make adaptations (if possible) to make the presets applicable for DJ purposes (minimal peak limiting, mainly).

The creation of Undo has changed the outlook on this considerably, and well effect the consumer and DJ and Live versions of Breakaway, because they will have much lower default final drives than before. This is a great thing since it means you will be hearing much more detail than before, especially for the consumers who couldn’t turn down the final drive of any presets before.

This also means that all of these presets will be suitable for DJs who are generally playing on at least larger small sized audio systems, where peak limiting is highly detrimental to audio quality. (let’s say above 5,000 watts) That lack of suitability is thee reason some of the presets weren’t included "as is" before.

For any kind of quality in layer-2, you’re looking at above 400 kbps.

A probe for an oscilloscope generally has 1,000,000 Ohms resistance. It’s done so that very very little current flows through the circuit of the scope, to avoid altering the operation of what you’re monitoring, and to allow directly monitoring much higher current circuits that would otherwise be possible.

If you understood what I Just said, then you would know this basically means you can tap the audio path directly, and that "splitting" it wouldn’t actually be any different than tapping it, other than adding another possible point of failure. 8)

That being said, it’s important to check the limits for any scope’s capabilities, so you don’t go frying it hooking it up to stuff you shouldn’t. Like the RF outputs of a transmitter. 😉

Weirdly enough, I think that’s actually spam you’re replying to Leif. I have removed the URL within their message.

Between the new presets coming*, and being able to adjust the multiband output mix, it should allow you to get a lot closer to the sounds you guys want. That being said, there has to be some reason to buy an Omnia.9 as far as the sound on-air as well. The "wicked sick" clipper in the Omnia.9 is a bigger part of that though.

*possibly, not sure what will make it to Breakaway from the Omnia.9, it’s totally possible that not everything will

What is the "MB" in that flowchart?

Anywho… the Pipeline (VAC) isn’t an ASIO at this point. Only Breakaway DJ has its own ASIO virtual driver that Leif made, which other software can connect to. I’ve never heard of any other software that allows you to do this.

Having trouble figuring out your flowchart.

    Much less destructive than clipping.

Yeah guys. Leif developed a new COMPLETE product at NAB in 3 spare hours in his hotel room, including a logo for the GUI… with the new framework. You have no idea how awesome the payoff of Leif’s grueling work for the last year will be, for us, and for Leif especially.

    radioio.com

it’s only a shadow of its former self though, after the new executive stuff (ioWorldMedia) booted all of the original people that created it, and it doesn’t even show up on any of the top 20 Webcast Metrics charts anymore. go figure. 🙂 and no, they aren’t running any of my processing for some years now.
