Version to version? I can’t really tell that big of a difference between any of the versions…except for the obvious new additions and plugins and enhancements. I’ve never paid attention.

If you’re using an EMU, be careful that the mixer isn’t "looping" something…that mixer software is confusing.

Perhaps BBP does change a how a DJ might mix their live sound on the radio. BBP has an uncannily "real" and "up close" sound to it.

We use pro audio cards and a broadcast automation system for our playout. Our setup sounds great through expensive broadcast processors, Breakaway Live, AND BBP ASIO.

Hopefully someone here can help you solve your problem. all the best.

If you’re using this machine as a dedicated on-air machine, I wouldn’t use any anti-virus, and simply disconnect it from the internet.

If it’s being used on a streaming encoder, and thusly, hooked up to the net, then I would suggest you use Sophos over AVG. We use Sophos on our Breakaway Live install and it’s never caused a burp.

Check your edcast program folder. I had issues where the logfile was getting gigantic. You may try shutting off logging by edcast. If you’re running all of this on the same computer…you may be better off anyway, having a separate computer for encoding/processing from your playout machine.

This is not allowed in any of the current versions of Breakaway, however, whatever settings you set for a preset are remembered upon startup. However, creating your own custom preset is not permitted. Future versions and "full control" versions of Breakaway may allow this later down the line.

The stereo enhancer is not available in the publicly released betas of the program, but rather in the latest betas, you will find a link to the latest betas up at the top of the forum.

Did Frank really use 2020’s to achieve the sound on KISS in LA? I thought he modified compellors and dominators, in the beginning.

Breakaway Broadcast or ASIO will work. ASIO if you want less delay.

Scope it out and adjust for any tilt, and you’re good.

That is some awfully clean looking spectrum on that scope.

Wow. I thought Plutonium was pretty close to the sound of my favorite Omnia preset. But, this is dead on, but…way better.

    Nice job!

Look at the center column of page 2 on this brochure. How does this design differ from previous incarnations of digital exciters?

Nautel has a direct to channel exciter: http://www.nautel.com/M50.aspx

    I’m just curious.

We use a downward expander set to eliminate some room noise and a 2:1 ratio…about 10db MAX compression…not a lot, relatively speaking.
