Look in the volume control (volumeregeling), make sure you are looking at the Recording Controls, and select Line In.
If you can’t find it, perhaps there is control panel for the C-Media (CMI) Audio where you can select the recording source?
If not, it may be worth buying a better sound card, such as ESI Juli@ or ASUS Xonar DX.

LeifKeymasterHartelijk dank, Cybo! 🙂

LeifKeymasterMartijn,
Sebastien is absolutely right.
Breakaway Live is low delay, low cpu usage, excellent audio quality (if not pushed too hard).
Breakaway Broadcast is higher delay, higher cpu usage, excellent audio quality, but can be pushed much harder than Live, for 2-3dB extra loudness without audible distortion!For the best possible setup, use both. Breakaway Live to feed your headphones, and Breakaway Broadcast to feed the encoder or transmitter. We sell both in a package for $299 🙂.
Best,
///LeifLeifKeymasterHi Richard!
I haven’t used OTSAV specifically, but in general terms, here’s one way to do it:
OTSAV outputs to Pipeline 1
OTSAV outputs currently playing title to a text fileBreakaway input: Pipeline 1
Breakaway reads song title from the same text file
Breakaway calls Edcast. (dsp_shoutcast not recommended). Please see the sticky mp3 quality thread near the top of the board index.Best,
///LeifLeifKeymasterCybernetic Organism, to resolve the glitches on my own problem I plan to experiment and try to isolate the problem. For example, I will route SAM to a normal sound card output and listen for glitches — and I will also create a DSP plug-in which writes all data to disk (in a separate thread). This way, the DSP disk writer will be timing independent, and if there are any glitches in the recording, I will know it’s an internal problem in SAM.
You can still use Edcast — Edcast can run from Breakaway Broadcast itself.
The "Clock Correction" option is simply a multiplier for the internal clock rate of the cable. It has no bearing on stability — better to leave it alone.
Options you may want to change in the pipeline configuration tool:
– Number of cables (pipelines)
– Volume control enabled
– Maximum sampling rate allowedBest regards,
///LeifLeifKeymasterHi Gerhardt!
Try the following:
Start / Run: sndvol32 /r
Make sure to select Line In, not "Stereo Mix".
If this is not the correct answer, please ask the question in Dutch — there are several Dutch speakers around, I’m sure one of them will help 😉.
Vriendelijke Groeten,
///LeifLeifKeymasterTest tone only gives you half of the picture, as it gets generated inside Breakaway, and thus bypasses the input device.
(Exception: The third page of the setup wizard in Breakaway Personal, which plays the test tone into the pipeline and runs the breakaway audio engine in normal mode)

No de-emphasis = big problem. Listening to pre-emphasized audio is extremely bright and shrill, even if it’s just 15us.
Output level is fine.
The speaker and news voices, are they pre-processed?
Breakaway seems to sound best on voice when you back way off the mic processing (or completely remove it) and let Breakaway do the job instead 🙂. Also, rather than cranking range up, it might make sense to turn it down, so that bass and treble won’t get boosted as much on voice.
Could you record a dry aircheck (what you’re feeding to the input of the processor) and send? This way I’ll be able to hear what you’re hearing. 🙂
Best,
///LeifLeifKeymasterDear Cybernetic Organism 😉
I’ve made enormous optimizations since 0.90.49 — the latest versions use 30% less CPU.
However, if it indeed was not a matter of running out of CPU power, then that alone wouldn’t solve it.
Using Sam Broadcaster myself, I can’t seem to completely get rid of glitches — but I’m not ready to blame SAM just yet.
Could you try the latest BBP version, and use Winamp for playback? If that still has the same glitches, it would seem to either BBP itself, or the computer is at fault. (It could for example be some driver or antivirus program locking up the system intermittently).
However, if it fixes the glitches, try SAM with latest BBP. If that glitches, it may be a problem related to SAM. If so, try the LiveLink DSP plug-in for BBP, and see if it solves the problem. You can find the plug-in here: http://www.claessonedwards.com/plugins

I googled "FM Multipath output" and found this:
http://www.ham-radio.com/k6sti/mpath.htm
VERY interesting! I had absolutely no idea about this. Very cool, and it seems a lot easier to find a suitable tuner by searching for "Multipath Output" than by searching for "MPX output"!

January 24, 2009 at 6:16 am in reply to: Breakaway Broadcast 0.90.69 and Breakaway Live 0.90.69 #6274LeifKeymasterBreakaway Live is wrong. It should be 0dB.
Breakaway Personal is correct, sort of.
Traditional audio science seems to says to say that:
3dB is a doubling of power
6dB is a doubling of voltage
10dB is a doubling of perceived loudnessThe first two are absolute — the third one is more subjective.
Me, I know what 6dB sounds like (doubling of voltage), and to me that also *sounds* like double. So, if it was entirely up to me, I would have written 6dB. However, being a consumer product, for this particular unit, I figured I’d go with the more traditional teaching — even if it doesn’t make sense to me as an audio pro. It may just be that I’ve trained myself to hear 6dB as double (since it’s the only way my ears will agree with a volt meter).

With a brand name like Nikko, I guess it wouldn’t be impossible that it’s a bad translation (i.e. they really meant to write Multiplex).
It’s worth trying. Do you have a scope handy? Broadcast the quicksweep from BBP, see what it looks like out of the multipath jack.

LeifKeymasterHi Raymond!
Supporting specific 3rd party software is difficult to find time for, for a small company such as this (with a lone programmer, such as myself) – but would an API help?
///Leif
LeifKeymasterIt’s possible. You just gotta pick the right Breakaway product 🙂.
The answer is Breakaway Live or Breakaway Broadcast.
Best,
