Excuse me? Say that to Microsoft, Adobe and all other (big) software developper companies. Then they are laughing at your face.
Excuse me! At least they are laughing at me. No more do I expect. Just tell me: "Sorry, but your hardware configuration is to obscure for ever being supported by my software". It will be alright with me. I’ll go out find one that does. But now it’s as I said: Stuck! Should I wait for the new version? Does it pay off… while my intuition tells me, that still nobody understood, what the problems are? Got my point?
You have a Win7 Atom PC and a Sanyo 10 watt per channel amp which "work flawlessly"
I have a Win7 desktop PC with a Z68 chipset motherboard, a Core-i3 2100T Processor, 4GB RAM, using on-board hardware ONLY, except for an additional SAT-TV twin receiver card (PCIe 1x), and a remote control receiver connected via USB. The Teufel (5.1) amp (read the original post!) is connected to the 3 rear panel 3,5mm jacks. Please show me, where to find the "minimum requirements" that tell me, that surround is not supported. I didn’t find them.

However, why are all of you so tightly sticking to the surround issue. YES, I DID UNDERSTAND, there will be another version (sometime) supporting this. But, there are 3 other issues, that are much more severe?

    Thank you for your interest.

If you read my initial post you might have noticed that the problems can only be solved in two ways:
    1) Fix the software
    2) Buy other hardware

I can do nothing about software, well, maybe except for changing to another OS, but that’s not open for discussions, so here is where I really hoped for support from the author.
I could do something about hardware, but, well, I don’t want to, because in general it works flawlessly, and on the other hand, why should I? It’s software that should fit to the hardware, not vice versa.

    stuck. Waiting…

Don’t get me wrong. My first impression was just the same: Brilliant! But unfortunately that’s only true for the core features. In normal life it simply is not usable and not only regarding surround.

What I described were issues in a certain, maybe uncommon, but still regular hardware and software environment. I’m quite sure the author wasn’t or isn’t aware of all of them.

That’s where this thread REALLY started to become "negative", because I don’t quite like to be ignored 😉. I’m sure that my observations are proven, so why does nobody at least ask about some details…?

    Never mind.

Thank you for not answering 😥 . Breakaway software removed from my computer. It’s a relief. I simply cannot use it and I suppose that’s true for most probably every other (Win7) user, who wants to use it on a HTPC.

    Veeeery sad.

Pls let me know (in a few years or so) when you have your software ready for "normal" use…

    regards
You’re asking allot of a $30 piece of software, aren’t you? If you search for forum you will find there are future plans for a "surround sound" version of Breakaway. Idk if you are going to be successful running surround sound until an actual version is written for that.
Oh well, I think it doesn’t really matter what price, if I can’t really acceptably use it, then it even could be for free, or you could even pay ME for using it, but I still would not use it.

Do you really understand what I currently need to do to at least be able to use this software? I have to configure all programs except for Winamp not to use BA because the two channels BA leaves over from a 6ch stream don’t really sound so good. And if I leave I have to activate the settings screen of BA for it to release my system to hibernation. The whole vice versa when I get back. To control volume I have to connect a keyboard (with media keys!) because there’s no way to do this with a regular remote control. Other applications of course need other volume control. I really cannot imagine that anybody in the world would tolerate this for a long time.

By the way: I did search the forum, and if you had read my post you would have noticed that. My problem is, that these other threads often end up hanging in the middle of a discussion, often I miss a timeline, often there is not even a precise plan, and in some cases the author is still explicitely advertising features that simply do not exist. Therefore I thought it might be a good idea to combine everything in one thread and try to get some more precise answers.

Just blame me for that, if you don’t have something more helpful to say, but you might also have noticed that I’m not willing to give up too soon. I really like this software, regarding the core feature it’s the best I’ve ever seen. It would really be a shame if we could not overcome the problems easily. I even plan to write a program to workaround some of the problems. If it’s that easy why do we need to wait more than a year for the author to release a bugfix version? Maybe he isn’t even aware?

hope to read something helpful soon (the trial period expiration date is closing in)

    *Push*

Nobody interested in these issues? Am I really the only one? How about the programmer himself? After all it’s his money he’s going to miss…
