I agree, we need at least one other AAC alternative, preferably one that is actively being developed, so I would welcome any feedback if you are able to open some dialogue.
Hmm. That’s weird, because I tested it (downloaded the zip file) after I uploaded it. Maybe because I’m in Australia? Anyway, DrSandi was also able to download, so maybe it’s something in the browser which needs to be relaxed?
Great to hear it is all finally resolved. The process is supposed to be seamless, but, obviously, it wasn’t in your case.

Are you streaming or FTA broadcasting? If you are using “one of those Chinese transmitters” it suggests that you are transmitting (FTA), but you mention friends “streaming”. Maybe doing both? Are you using pre-emphasis on the FTA?Just to finalise the original issue, did you get your licencing issue sorted, or are you still waiting? John has responded to me, saying that he will happily generate your licence as soon as he has (at least) the MAC address of your PC (to which your licence is bound).
BTW, this is a link that John provided after I gave you the link to the AAC encoder I use. I’m not sure if it is the same, or a later version. I also contacted John, and he told me that he had requested some information from you about your system under “System License Summary” back on the 13th of March.
I assume that that was when you were still wrestling with the AAC problem, so, if that is resolved, please provide him the information generated under that tab, and you should be good to go.Are you saying that you have purchased BA1 and not yet received your licence?

Did it work for you? This is for the benefit of others, if it was successful.I am not sure what the legal implications are, but I believe that Leif would have secured the appropriate rights at the time, so I am prepared to risk it.
I have uploaded a zipped copy of the codec that I installed way back in 2018 when I started testing BA1. It is obviously not the latest and greatest, but I know that it works.

Streaming
Applicable to HD cores.Can stream to Icecast, Shoutcast and Shoutcast 2 servers, and encodes up to four streams from one processor.
The following codecs are included:
Ogg Vorbis
Opus
FLAC
MPEG-1 Layer 2 (twolame)
Industry standard MP3, AAC and HE-AAC codecs can be used, but are not included.Any stdin/stdout command line encoder can be used.

I don’t stream, but I have a licence to do so. Let me play around with options and I will get back to you.

I believe I do. I have “SPAM” and “TRASH” options, which infer that they may delete or hide posts, although (thankfully) I have not yet had to use them.
I am on several other forums, and this software is nowhere near as good as some of the others, but the choice was made by Keith before he passed, so, for now, we live with what we have.
Leif is a very busy and private person. He can sometimes go for days before he responds to emails, even from those within his closest circle of contacts, especially if he is on a “development bender”.

The fact still remains that any “bugs” reported may be as a result of the VM environment.I am not aware of any legal limitations to using a Breakaway product as part of a recording suite. I will refer it to their management for clarification. It may be as simple as including a reference to it in your sleeve notes (if it ever gets that far).
BAE is a lot simpler (and cheaper) to just clean up or tweak audio input, but, of course, it intentionally doesn’t have the ability to output directly to a file. That’s not say that it can’t be done, with “What You Hear” redirection or output to a different sound device.
BA1 DOES have the ability to output to a file (as a bi-product of a broadcast stream), but I’ve never taken note of the final quality of such a recording.
