Thanks, I will relay the info. I installed BAE on a new Windows 10 Pro Minix PC a couple of weeks ago and it uses Realtek but I did not see anything about Dolby and I did not change anything from the default. BAE installed with no problem.
remnettMemberWas this ever resolved? I recommended BAE to a friend who is running Lenovo and W10 with a Realtek driver and the latest version of BAE and experiencing the BSOD as soon as he clicks Test. I have recommended BAE to all the members of our Facebook music group and we are getting no response from our emails to support.
Additional info he is using Win 10, ver 1909, inst 2/2/20, OS build 18363.720. breakaway_setup_1.40.03
remnettMemberStill hoping for an OSX version but have not seen any hints to indicate that it will become a reality any time soon. I used BAE 24 /7 for five years with my Music server and Mac Mini by either running Windows 7 in bootcamp or Parallels. On my Mac Mini 2011 I use Parallels and recently upgraded to Parallells 10 and Yosemite. I run itunes on the Mac and playback through BAE running Windows 7 via Airplay and Airfoil Speakers. If you are interested in more info please reply. While that solves the problem here at home I am still looking for a way to get BAE running in my car without having to install a complete PC. It amazes me that BAE or some other workable form of Audio compression enhancer is not available for car sound systems.
remnettMemberI tried Codeweavers about a year ago and could not get BAE to work. I run BAE in Windows 7 with Parallels and it works fine however you have to run your player in Windows also. I have tried just about everything to direct the audio from OSX Lion to BAE running in Parallels Windows 7 but have not had any success. Seems to me there should be a way. The closest I came was using a Turtle Beach USB Sound Dongle mounted in Windows and running the audio from OSX to the Mic Input of the USB Dongle. This does run the Audio through BAE but unfortunately the Mic Audio also loops to the output of the Turtle Beach causing an echo effect.
remnettMemberI come back and visit the forum from time to time hoping to find some hope for a mac version of BAE.
After reading some of the negative replies here I think that what some of us fail to realize is that there is a large percentage of listeners that like to listen to a variety of music ( a lot of it old ). They also want to listen to the music and not the equipment. For several years I have used A PC and BAE with lossy mp3 files to drive a micro fm transmitter for listeners in our small condo area who derive a great deal of enjoyment from their inexpensive fm radios ( It also sounds great on a Bose ).
I have tried many versions of software to enhance, control volume levels and prevent distortion. There is nothing that even comes close to Breakaway.
My only wish is that there was a Mac version so I can finally get rid of the real crap ( Windows ).
remnettMemberMe Too, I have to ask this at least every year. Before I spring for more copies of Parallels and Windows 7 just so I can run BAE on another mac ( This is getting expensive )
Is there any hope for a Mac version of BAE in the near future ?
remnettMemberAttention Mac Users there is a way! I just bought a new Mac Mini with Dual Core i7 and 8 gb ram to replace my 10 year old P4 XP machine. I have used BAE for a couple of years now to drive a micro FM Transmitter for our local condo association radio station and did not want to lose the sound processing of BAE but I have long wanted a Mac. I have Windows 7 64 bit installed in Parallels Desktop 7 with iTunes and BreakAway Audio Enhancer. Works perfectly! Sounds Great! I have my main iTunes Library installed in OSX Lion and use Windows installed iTunes to access the OSX Version’s shared library. This allows me to to import new files and do other file maintenance duties without disturbing the 24/7 station broadcast.
remnettMemberHappy Holidays Leif,
Just downloaded BAE and I am enjoying it already. I have SRS iWow but wanted something better. I found the last release of Volume Logic for Windows and spent a week trying to figure out how to use it after the trial period. I was not aware of BAE until I found your name in Wikipedia. You need to advertise more. You would think in all the searches I did on Volume Logic I would have seen something on BAE.
Anyway I am looking forward to learning more about the application. I have downloaded your FM Mode Calibration as I will be using it with an EDM transmitter. I did not think anything could be better than Volume Logic but after listening for only an hour I am amazed. I have only tried the Easy Listening preset ( I am a hopeless fan of elevator music. ) and it sounds so good I haven’t tried anything else.
Thanks for a great application ! I will definitely be purchasing BAE.
Roger
remnettMemberHi Scott
Saw your post and was wondering how you like the EDM ? I have a EDM EX LCD on order and plan on using it with Breakaway. I have had several FM Transmitters including Ramsey and CC Crane but I need a little more range so I decided to try an EDM.
