Silverfox, please find the link to 0.90.05 in the breakaway dj thread near the top of the board. I’m on my phone – no copy and paste. 🙂
//Leif
I only see the ALPA looking for the Release could it not be located with the other Software thread listing current versions?
silverfoxMember
The alpha is stable and the upgrade to release version is free, why wait? If you want it now you can have it now.
///Leif
YES….
Download location ??
silverfoxMember
The BADJ std feature set is pretty much done, will add more presets and convenience features like toolbar and keyboard cmds though.
There will also be a pro version with 4 decks, mic processing (karaoke mode) and timecode vinyl support.
Std will be upgradable to pro, too.
///Leif
Thanks Leiff any time frame for the baseline release ❓
silverfoxMember

So is BADJ going to become the "poor cousin" just because you designed it for big speakers in "DJ" venues?
Definitely not! DJ has many features not available in any other Breakaway product, and it will get more presets over time. There’s no point in releasing it on the same schedule as the broadcast products though, as that would take time away from actual Breakaway DJ feature development!
I do intend for Breakaway DJ to be "the only Breakaway you need" even if you’re not DJ’ing at the time.
However, I do have to be very careful about what presets I put in, because if I included all the broadcast presets and features from Live, it would have to be the same price of a 2-instance Live, and then it would be too expensive for casual DJ use.
Maybe I bought the wrong product? Give me something that provides the very low latency for video display, with the supurb audio manipulation you provide.
I thought I did 🙂. What are you missing exactly?
Best regards,
///Leif
Can you give a brief overview of what is coming in the "Released Breakaway DJ" program and approximately when.I too was starting to feel like the BADJ product was the "Poor Cousin" since there is no release from Beta yet or docs etc.
I recognize there is ongoing development but what is the BADJ "Baseline" to develop from?
silverfoxMember
He’s so insanely busy right now, what… with NAB coming up and all. 8)
Thanks it’s nice to have someone taking care of the store.. 8)
silverfoxMember
How are registered users notified when new versions or updates and Betas are available for download ?
I don’t see any "Check updates" button in the app.. ??
No response ????
silverfoxMember
There. This should bring user-friendliness up a few notches I hope? 🙂
///Leif
Is there a single spot where the latest Betas can be found to download?
silverfoxMember
I apologize.. Just a lot of things at once at the moment.
This is a good learning experience — you’ve helped me figure out how to make it more obvious!
I’ll make the window taller so that the 4th line will fit in there as well.
Perhaps I should also make ASIO channels 1, 2, 3, 4 be the defaults — that would have avoided this issue as well.
///Leif
Good idea… 8)
silverfoxMember
You are kidding, right? How is audio supposed to get into the sound card?
L1/R1 are the left and right audio channels of the "left deck"
L2/R2 are the left and right audio channels of the "right deck"You have the right deck audio output disabled.
///Leif
I’m supposed to know how your software works ? No docs and followed your e-mail instructions ..
Why not have the required outputs together (Like every other audio software does) What should R1 be then or are we supposed to know with just one box shown?
sheesh Thanks for your help. (My Bad)
silverfoxMember

sent Tone from Breakaway and it only comes out the left channel..
Good, now we know the problem is somewhere between Breakaway DJ and the sound card — we don’t have to worry about VirtualDJ anymore.
What is your Breakaway DJ I/O Configuration? Please post a screenshot if you can.
///Leif
silverfoxMember
If you turn on Pink Noise (inside the settings), do you get output from all channels?
///Leif
I sent Tone from Breakaway and it only comes out the left channel..
silverfoxMember
I don’t use VDJ nor the GigaPort soundcard, but what outputs did you select in VDJ? Are these set as the inputs on Breakaway DJ?
1/2 left 3/4 right external mixer in VDJ… YES
Windows 7 on two machines
silverfoxMember
Basically yes, although it has evolved a bit since AtomixMP3 🙂.
Breakaway DJ is an audio processor for DJs, low latency, with an ASIO driver to directly interface with DJ software, such as VirtualDJ, Traktor, or whatever you like. Two separate cores so that you can process either Deck A/Deck B separately, or Master/Cue separately, for the ridiculously low price of $99 🙂.
I’m aiming for it to be cpu-efficient enough to run together with DJ software even on a standard netbook (Atom CPU).
It’s not done yet (I started a week ago) but it’s running now, the ASIO driver is working — it should be downhill coasting from here. (Yea right, like that ever happens…)
///Leif
Virtual DJ Basic is only $99. and DJ’s are cheap your Breakaway for DJ’s processor may go better at around $50.00.Just saying..
A Cheap DJ (LOL)
silverfoxMember
There’s currently no support for ASIO dj apps, even in the pro products, but that’s something I do want to support in the future as it’s somewhere where breakaway would be really useful.
Best,
///Leif
Any updates on this it would really take off if available in ASIO DJ APPS ..
Hope soon 🙂
silverfoxMemberI’d be the first to volunteer to test a Beta would be a great step forward.. 8)
