Prototypes are almost finished, production & price after compliance tests.
Estimated release to ETSI market: 1Q 2010, FCC market: 2Q 2010.March 10, 2010 at 8:30 pm #8731rocco123456MemberHello boys……!!!
Hello Camclone…!!!!!!!
Can I have or buy…an avaluation board to test DIGITAL MPX…???????Thank you..
Rocco..March 11, 2010 at 10:04 am #8732DiekgaitMemberI can’t wait to try one either!
March 23, 2010 at 9:04 pm #8733yorkie98ParticipantSigmacom.. any updates on progress of the prototypes? It’s all gone a little quiet..
April 5, 2010 at 4:00 pm #8734camcloneMemberMobile phone not answering.
emails not answered.what happened ?
NASA took him ? 😳
April 5, 2010 at 9:05 pm #8735GeorgeMemberNope….. Easter holidays 😀
April 5, 2010 at 10:11 pm #8736camcloneMemberI am calling Sigmacom on his mobile phone many days before the holidayzzz.
wazzap with him ?
April 6, 2010 at 12:33 pm #8737GeorgeMemberLoooooong Easter holidays !!
I don’t know why but I know that last time Stelios is very busy.
Be patient…only the "mountain test" remain 😉
April 6, 2010 at 10:07 pm #8738sigmacomMemberHello everyone, and I apologize for my long absence… 😳
Some very good things happened for me in my day-job, and had to put aside everything else.
Now I am gradually returning to my regular activities! 😉"Yeah, yeah… What about the DDS exciter?"
The prototype is assembled and tested already by some people. Well, I wish they could write here their impression!
Any suggestions and problems have been addressed. Now remains a final test in a very harshed environment, and then can go to camclone.
If you people need any special tests to make before it leaves from my hands, please tell me soon! Some (poor quality) pictures of the hand-made prototype:
"Audio adjustment" vs "Modulation adjustment"
All radio stations today have an audio processor – like BBP. Also, all stations concern about their deviation (+/-75kHz).
Would you like an exciter with "audio level" adjustment, or an exciter where you can dictate it’s deviation with precision?
In this exciter, I don’t provide an "audio level" adjustment, but a "modulation adjustment" instead. This maybe confuses you, but it is very simple. There is no clipper, just a different approach:
The user feeds the exciter with a nominal audio level -12dBFS, and then defines from the menu how many kHz deviation he wants.
In other words: give -12dBFS from BBP and set "75kHz" from the DDS menu. Now you can be sure that the exciter deviates +/-75kHz.
The "75kHz" is an example, you can set it from 20 to 150 kHz which results in +/-20 up to +/-150 kHz deviation.Everyone who saw it got confused, but were amazed when I explained it.
Would you guys like to share your opinion about this concept?April 6, 2010 at 10:59 pm #8739camcloneMemberYou MADE MY DAY SIGMACOM !!
I am waiting for feeding this DDS with 220volts of electricity and 75 KHz of deviation with …. 9 dbr of spectral power!so much modulated power cannot be passed through old style PLL technology becuse of the extra extraaaaaa high energy of bass that is modulated through breakaway 🙂
If a station has a " high powered MPX signal" …this station MUST use DDS exciters in order to be compatible with all types of FM recievers..
It is TIME ! 🙂)
when u are ready tell me to send u extra money.
I will keep in touch with my special review as soon as i ve got it

It should be made to be able to adjust what the nominal level is too, if that is possible. -3dBFS is way more than enough for Breakaway, and will improve where the 16bit noise floor is a tad.April 7, 2010 at 7:33 am #8741sigmacomMember
It should be made to be able to adjust what the nominal level is too, if that is possible. -3dBFS is way more than enough for Breakaway, and will improve where the 16bit noise floor is a tad.
OK, I will add this!April 7, 2010 at 2:54 pm #8742camcloneMemberIf it’s possible :
1) the abbility to make easy firmware upgrades through serial port of whatever ?
2) overheating alarm and automatic RF power reduction ?
3) a second air fan near the first one just in case that the first fan …become dead 🙂
4) telemetry …for heating status , RF status ..and all these good controls.. 🙂
5) a good method for saving the settings on it’s memory without the need of " small battery" like the pc motherboards becuse you never know what happpens after many many years.. 🙂
i am sure that some if these are already implemented but i wanna be sure 🙂April 7, 2010 at 3:45 pm #8743LeifKeymasterCome on Stavros, let him get it out the door already 🙂
April 7, 2010 at 7:05 pm #8744yorkie98ParticipantHi Sigmacom, great to hear from you again, looks like things are moving along with the transmitter.
So, what I really want to know is when do you expect that the prototypes will be ready for those of us who are patiently (but eagerly) awaiting one?
The pictures are looking really good and you have obviously been very busy. You must be very keen to get this machine out to the market. When you do, I’m sure my prototype when coupled with BBP will result in many orders coming through when they realise how superior this setup is 😀Keep up the good work.
