DOES  ANY 1  NO THE    BEST SETTINGS FOR  EUROPEAN  SET UP  FOR FM BROADCAST ON  BBP???

PLEASE  NEED SOME HELP WITH THIS
    [/quote]
    Hi,

"best settings" is very much a matter of taste, and there is no one-fits-all solution for all European countries.
Some countries require the output to conform to ITU-R SM.1268-1 AKA Stokke mask limits and some do not.
It is not a bad idea to use the Stokke mask in any case, even if not a requirement as in my opinion, it has a positive effect on the bass sound.
In Europe the main technical requirements are the use of 50us Pre-emphasis and deviation not exceeding +/- 75 Khz and where required, the use of the Stokke mask limiter. There are more detailed parameters and these should be available on the website of the regulator in your territory.

cheers mate  i seem to find ROCK  and a few adjustments do the job for me.
i also dont use the stereo on the bbp, as i have a stereo coder on the rig and it causes to much of an irregular sound ,  so i have disabled my  st coder till i get a new 192KHZ  pc sound card where as then i can use the BBP  st

my pc is using a USB sound card only capable of standard sound for now  but  when i do get a new  card i hope it will better improove the ROCK setting  and 50us pre, i have now

    cheers

    Hi,
It's like I said, it's all down to taste and to some degree, suitability for your individual type of program material.
Personally, I prefer the Plutonium preset, to my ears, it's the one which does not colour the music and the output seems to have the same EQ as the input. It's also nice and loud and you can choose to have it on an aggressive setting or back it off to have more respect for the dynamics of the music.

If you are looking for a soundcard to use the MPX output of BBP, if you only have a small amount to spare then look on auction sites for an Audigy 2ZS or and Audigy 4 (Not SE 4), these can often be picked up for less than £20 and will do the job very nicely. If you have a bit more to spend, and EMU 0404 (PCI or PCIe) are a good choice, also for a bit more, the ESI Maya44 or Juli@ cards are an excellent choice. The ultimate card is the Marian Trace Alpha but this is very expensive and also very hard to find.
I have done scope tests on dozens of different cards and also onboard codecs built onto motherboards.
Don't just buy any 192Khz soundcard, it does not guarantee it to be suitable for BBP and the same with onboards, some are excellent, some are not so good and some are dreadful, even if using the same chipset, the design of the mainboard itself can have a major effect on the performance of the output sometimes good, sometimes bad. I tend not to rely on onboards any more.

    Hi Phil,
That's not an Audigy, it's an X-Fi, totally different series of cards.
It's difficult to judge individual cards, the only experience I had with X-Fi was not good, I tested an X-Fi Extreme Music and the test squarewave was basically an out of shape, distorted triangle wave and the spectral linearity was awful. It might have been possible to carry out hardware mods to the card but these are only for advanced users.
An oscilloscope is needed to properly test cards.
An Audigy 4 (Not to be mistaken for the Audigy SE which is sometimes called 4SE) or Audigy 2ZS work fine and only need small tilt adjustments. These can now be bought for very little money on auction sites.

I've never tried one of the external interface ones, just internal PCI cards.
You could also try to get an EMU 0404 PCI cheap, these are also very good but usually a few more £..

I want to exchange an Orban 8200 by BBP Asio .

Need to test on an HD onboard VT2021 board.
In reality already tested and found spectacular. In addition to setting the MPX output , I'll need something else to start .

I have the following question , how do I test for the pilot and generated stereo ????

Good afternoon ! I live in Brazil 'm client, have the BBP 0.90.95 liked this version , adjusted RDS Gain adjusted Widht Transition and Transition Slope adjusted the MPX level and I'm using Preset French Kiss , I wonder if I should use the ITU Ref Level or not and whether duty use in how many Db is recommended? Thanks .

"ITU Ref Level" calibrates a few things to match your input loudness (ITU-R B.S.1770 / LKFS) target.

The insinuation is that you should be mixing and/or using loudness normalization with a loudness target. There are several major advantages to mixing with loudness meters and/or using loudness normalization in your automation and/or during ingest.
